Estimation of illumination for color correction

[Proceedings] ICASSP 91: 1991 International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1991
The reproduction of color images often requires color correction. The original image may have been recorded under one illumination while the reproduction is to be viewed under another or made to appear as if it were recorded under another. Since it is often the case that the original illumination is unknown to the image scientist, it is necessary to ...

Illuminant estimation for multichannel images

SPIE Proceedings, 2005
Multi-channel imaging gains more and more applications because of its advantage in better color reproduction and better spectral representation to avoid metamerism problem. Illuminant estimation for multi-channel images is not widely studied because most illuminant estimation methods are applied to trichromatic images.

Illumination compensation for microscope images based on illumination difference estimation

The Visual Computer, 2021
The DNA ploidy analysis which measures the relative content of DNA in cells by image processing has a wide range of applications in cancer diagnosis. However, the measured results of the same cell in different positions are different because of uneven illumination, which may reduce the measurement accuracy and the diagnosis performance.

Consensus-driven illuminant estimation with GANs

Thirteenth International Conference on Machine Vision, 2021
We present a method for illuminant estimation that exploits a generative adversarial network architecture to generate a spatially-varying illuminant map. This map is then transformed by consensus into a global illuminant estimation, in the form of a single RGB triplet. To this end, different consensus strategies are designed and compared in this paper.
