Ab initio study of the elastic behavior of MgSiO3 ilmenite at high pressure [PDF]
We investigate the athermal high pressure behavior of the elastic properties of MgSiO3 ilmenite up to 30 GPa using the ab initio pseudopotential method. Our results at zero pressure are in good agreement with single-crystal elasticity measurements.

Overturn of ilmenite‐bearing cumulates in a rheologically weak lunar mantle [PDF]
©2019. American Geophysical UnionThe crystallization of the lunar magma ocean (LMO) determines the initial structure of the solid Moon. Near the end of the LMO crystallization, ilmenite‐bearing cumulates (IBC) form beneath the plagioclase crust.

Effect of flow resistance in open rectangular channel [PDF]
The determination of flow resistance for open channels remains a challenge in practices. In this research, an experimental study was carried out to investigate the hydraulic roughness characteristics in an open channel.

The thermal equation of state of FeTiO_3 ilmenite based on in situ X-ray diffraction at high pressures and temperatures [PDF]
We present in situ measurements of the unit-cell volume of a natural terrestrial ilmenite (Jagersfontein mine, South Africa) and a synthetic reduced ilmenite (FeTiO_3) at simultaneous high pressure and high temperature up to 16 GPa and 1273 K.

Shock compression of ilmenite [PDF]
Single- and reflected-shock compression measurements on single-crystal ilmenite (FeTiO_3) to pressures of 635 and 930 kbar, respectively, demonstrate anomalously large compressions above ∼320 kbar and imply the onset of one or more major phase changes at this pressure level which continue to occur to at least ∼600 kbar.

Nano-ilmenite FeTiO3: Synthesis and characterization [PDF]
In general, ilmenite FeTiO3 is synthesized by solid-state reaction at very high pressure and high temperature. Synthesis of FeTiO3 is not an easy task as the Fe2þ ions are not stable. Therefore, it is really challenging to prepare this material. In this work nano-ilmenite FeTiO3 was synthesized by the sol–gel method.

Abundance and Partitioning of OH in a High-pressure Magmatic System: Megacrysts from the Monastery Kimberlite, South Africa [PDF]
Concentrations of OH, and major and trace elements were determined in a suite of mantle-derived megacrysts that represent the crystallization products of a kimberlite-like magma at ~5 GPa and ~1400–1100°C.
