Flexible Image-Based Photometric Reconstruction using Virtual Light Sources
Computer Graphics Forum, 2001Photometric reconstruction is the process of estimating the illumination and surface reflectance properties of an environment, given a geometric model of the scene and a set of photographs of its surfaces. For mixed-reality applications, such data is required if synthetic objects are to be correctly illuminated or if synthetic light sources are to be ...

StyLitGAN: Image-Based Relighting via Latent Control
Computer Vision and Pattern RecognitionWe describe a novel method, StyLitGAN, for relighting and resurfacing images in the absence of labeled data. StyL-itGAN generates images with realistic lighting effects, including cast shadows, soft shadows, inter-reflections, and glossy effects, without

Image Forensics Based on Lighting Estimation
International Journal of Image and Graphics, 2019Computer generated images are assumed to be a key part in each person’s life in this era of information technology, where individuals effectively inhabit the advertisements, magazines, websites, televisions and many more. At the point when digital images

Adaptive Polyhedral Subdivision for Image-based Lighting
2010Augmented Reality (AR) is a technique that synthesizes and displays virtual objects such as CG in images of real environments. It is important to harmonize real environment with CG and to render the harmonized scene. In this research, we propose a method for rendering virtual objects by using Image-based Lighting (IBL) that uses polyhedral subdivision ...

Automatic Light Scene Setting Through Image-Based Sparse Light Effect Approximation
IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, 2012Recently a series of key factors are deeply transforming lighting systems. Single lights can be controlled individually and with advanced rendering capabilities. Furthermore, a shift is underway from independent light sources to integrated lighting installations.

Image-based diffuse lighting using visibility maps
ACM SIGGRAPH 2003 Sketches & Applications, 2003We present an efficient technique for systematically constructing texture maps that approximate the diffuse lighting of an object, based on illumination from an environment map. Image-based diffuse lighting involves integrating an irradiance function over the full visibility hemisphere at each point of the object’s surface.

Light field imaging based on defocused photographic images
Digital Holography and Three-Dimensional Imaging, 2016Light Field from images captured by focal plane sweeping instead of micro-lenslets or camera arraies achieve better angular resolution. However, the defocus noise is a serious problem. In this paper, we present two methods for improving the quality of the reconstructed light field from several defocus images.

Next generation image based lighting using HDR video
ACM SIGGRAPH 2011 Talks, 2011We present an overview of our recently developed systems pipeline for capture, reconstruction, modeling and rendering of real world scenes based on state-of-the-art high dynamic range video (HDRV). The reconstructed scene representation allows for photo-realistic Image Based Lighting (IBL) in complex environments with strong spatial variations in the ...

Fast Height-Field Rendering under Image-Based Lighting
2010 18th Pacific Conference on Computer Graphics and Applications, 2010We propose a new fast height-field rendering method for Image-Based Lighting. Our approach approximates the environmental illumination using spherical radial basis functions (SRBFs). We approximate the integrand of the rendering equation as a sum of products of the SRBFs and the visibility function.
