Image based modelling with VideoTrace
ACM SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics, 2008Image based modeling (IBM) combines aspects of computer vision, graphics and interface design. Practitioners in each field have approached IBM within the context of their own discipline, but recently systems have emerged that harness the strengths of each.

Interactive image-based modeling of macrostructured textures
IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, 1999This article addresses the modeling aspects of macrostructured texture synthesis often avoided by other methods. We aim to develop a system that provides an intuitive, interactive, continuous, and easy-to-use control to users during the entire synthesis process.

Image-based 3D models reconstruction
IET International Communication Conference on Wireless Mobile and Computing (CCWMC 2011), 2011Image-based 3D models reconstruction is an important branch of the research area in computer vision, artificial intelligence and virtual reality. An integrated 3D model reconstruction system usually consists of image capture, camera calibration, stereo rectify, feature extraction, stereo matching, depth information computation, mesh reconstruction and ...

Nowadays, there are high demands on 3D modeling of urban environments. In urban areas, buildings and trees greatly affect the landscape of urban areas. How to reconstruct 3D models for buildings and trees is an important problem for urban modeling. The large number of buildings and trees requires cheaper and more automatic approaches to be developed ...

Image Based Modeling of Defibrillation in Children
2006 International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2006Volume imaging, defibrillation electrode models, and finite element modeling are employed in patient-specific procedural modeling in pediatric patients with cardiac arrhythmias. Due to variable size and anatomy, these patients may not be well-served by devices designed for adult defibrillation.

Samantha: Towards Automatic Image-Based Model Acquisition
2010 Conference on Visual Media Production, 2010In this paper we describe SAMANTHA, a Structure and Motion pipeline from images which is both more robust and computationally cheaper than current competing approaches. Pictures are organized into a hierarchical tree which has single images as leaves and partial reconstructions as internal nodes.

Automatic camera placement for image-based modeling
Proceedings. Seventh Pacific Conference on Computer Graphics and Applications (Cat. No.PR00293), 2000We present an automatic camera placement method for generating imageābased models from scenes with known geometry. Our method first approximately determines the set of surfaces visible from a given viewing area and then selects a small set of appropriate camera positions to sample the scene from.
