A Review of Image Mosaicing Techniques [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
Image Mosaicing is a method of constructing multiple images of the same scene into a larger image. The output of the image mosaic will be the union of two input images. Image-mosaicing algorithms are used to get mosaiced image. Image Mosaicing processed is basically divided in to 5 phases.

A Privacy-Preserving Image Retrieval Scheme with a Mixture of Plain and EtC Images [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
In this paper, we propose a novel content-based image-retrieval scheme that allows us to use a mixture of plain images and compressible encrypted ones called "encryption-then-compression (EtC) images." In the proposed scheme, extended SIMPLE descriptors are extracted from EtC images as well as from plain ones, so the mixed use of plain and encrypted ...

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...

Learning Spatio-Temporal Information for Multi-Object Tracking

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
The robust multi-object tracking problem is a challenging issue in the field of computer vision. In this paper, we propose a multi-object tracking algorithm with temporal-spatial information and trajectory of confidence. The whole process is divided into

Spatial–temporal representation for video re‐identification via key images

open access: yesIET Computer Vision, 2020
Video‐based person re‐identification aims to verify the pedestrian identity from image sequences. The sequences are captured by cameras located in different directions at different times.

Retrieval Guided Unsupervised Multi-domain Image-to-Image Translation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Image to image translation aims to learn a mapping that transforms an image from one visual domain to another. Recent works assume that images descriptors can be disentangled into a domain-invariant content representation and a domain-specific style representation.

Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six

Study on Image Filtering -- Techniques, Algorithm and Applications [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Image processing is one of the most immerging and widely growing techniques making it a lively research field. Image processing is converting an image to a digital format and then doing different operations on it, such as improving the image or extracting various valuable data. Image filtering is one of the fascinating applications of image processing.

The Saccharomyces cerevisiae amino acid transporter Lyp1 has a broad substrate spectrum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Yeast Amino acid Transporter family members mediate the import of amino acids, ranging from substrate specialists to generalists. Here, we show that the specialist transporter, Lyp1, has a broader substrate spectrum than previously described, with affinity constants spanning from micromolar to millimolar.

Social context prevents heat hormetic effects against mutagens during fish development

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study shows that sublethal heat stress protects fish embryos against ultraviolet radiation, a concept known as ‘hormesis’. However, chemical stress transmission between fish embryos negates this protective effect. By providing evidence for the mechanistic molecular basis of heat stress hormesis and interindividual stress communication, this study ...
