Distributional Vision-Language Alignment by Cauchy-Schwarz Divergence [PDF]
Multimodal alignment is crucial for various downstream tasks such as cross-modal generation and retrieval. Previous multimodal approaches like CLIP utilize InfoNCE to maximize mutual information, primarily aligning pairwise samples across modalities while overlooking distributional differences.

FITA: Fine-grained Image-Text Aligner for Radiology Report Generation [PDF]
Radiology report generation aims to automatically generate detailed and coherent descriptive reports alongside radiology images. Previous work mainly focused on refining fine-grained image features or leveraging external knowledge. However, the precise alignment of fine-grained image features with corresponding text descriptions has not been considered.

Landscape of BRAF transcript variants in human cancer
We investigate the annotation of BRAF variants, focusing on protein‐coding BRAF‐220 (formerly BRAF‐reference) and BRAF‐204 (BRAF‐X1). The IsoWorm pipeline allows us to quantify these variants in human cancer, starting from RNA‐sequencing data. BRAF‐204 is more abundant than BRAF‐220 and impacts patient survival.

Visual question answering based evaluation metrics for text-to-image generation [PDF]
Text-to-image generation and text-guided image manipulation have received considerable attention in the field of image generation tasks. However, the mainstream evaluation methods for these tasks have difficulty in evaluating whether all the information from the input text is accurately reflected in the generated images, and they mainly focus on ...

Adversarial Image Alignment and Interpolation
Volumetric (3d) images are acquired for many scientific and biomedical purposes using imaging methods such as serial section microscopy, CT scans, and MRI. A frequent step in the analysis and reconstruction of such data is the alignment and registration of images that were acquired in succession along a spatial or temporal dimension.
