Compressive Hyperspectral Imaging
Optica Imaging Congress (3D, COSI, DH, FLatOptics, IS, pcAOP), 2023Conventional hyperspectral cameras encounter a trade-off between spatial and spectral samplings while capturing an input scene. To address this problem, we propose two imaging systems: Hyperspectral Light Field Tomography (Hyper-LIFT) and Tunable Image Projection Spectrometry (TIPS).

High compression ratio image compression
1993 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002An image compression method is proposed. It makes use of the wavelet transform (WT) with better frequency localization and the adaptive hierarchical vector quantization (AHVQ) technique. The WT provides a multifrequency channel representation for the image from which proper coding methods can be drawn.

High spectral and high spatial resolution images will be performed on-board satellites using a new instrument called a Fourier transform spectro-imager. Based on the principle of the Michelson interferometer, this instrument will give images in which each pixel is the whole spectrum of the observed point on Earth.

Fractals, 1994
This paper begins by presenting a simple explanation of the main ideas in fractal image compression. It then presents a brief discussion of the current state of the art along with some results comparing fractal encoding, JPEG, and a wavelet scheme. The conclusion contains references to many of the latest theoretical and implementation results.
