Flow‐based immunomagnetic enrichment of circulating tumor cells from diagnostic leukapheresis product

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The number of circulating tumor cells obtained from prostate cancer patients was increased approximately 5‐fold compared to regular CellSearch when processing 2 mL diagnostic leukapheresis material aliquots and increased by 44‐fold when processing 20 mL DLA aliquots using the flow enrichment target capture Halbach‐array.

Modified Alpha-Rooting Color Image Enhancement Method On The Two-Side 2-D Quaternion Discrete Fourier Transform And The 2-D Discrete Fourier Transform [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Mathematics and Sciences: An International Journal (MathSJ), Vol. 4, No. 1/2, June 2017, 2017
Color in an image is resolved into 3 or 4 color components and 2-Dimages of these components are stored in separate channels. Most of the color image enhancement algorithms are applied channel-by-channel on each image. But such a system of color image processing is not processing the original color.

Exact Histogram Specification Optimized for Structural Similarity

open access: yes, 2008
An exact histogram specification (EHS) method modifies its input image to have a specified histogram. Applications of EHS include image (contrast) enhancement (e.g., by histogram equalization) and histogram watermarking.

Unlocking the potential of tumor‐derived DNA in urine for cancer detection: methodological challenges and opportunities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urine is a rich source of biomarkers for cancer detection. Tumor‐derived material is released into the bloodstream and transported to the urine. Urine can easily be collected from individuals, allowing non‐invasive cancer detection. This review discusses the rationale behind urine‐based cancer detection and its potential for cancer diagnostics ...

Surfaceome: a new era in the discovery of immune evasion mechanisms of circulating tumor cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the era of immunotherapies, many patients either do not respond or eventually develop resistance. We propose to pave the way for proteomic analysis of surface‐expressed proteins called surfaceome, of circulating tumor cells. This approach seeks to identify immune evasion mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic targets. Circulating tumor cells (

Mammographic Image Enhancement using Digital Image Processing Technique [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Abstract PURPOSES this study aims to perform microcalsification detection by performing image enhancement in mammography image by using transformation of negative image and histogram equalization. image mammography with .pgm format changed to. jpg format then processed into negative image result then processed again using histogram equalization.

Image enhancement from a stabilised video sequence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The aim of video stabilisation is to create a new video sequence where the motions (i.e. rotations, translations) and scale differences between frames (or parts of a frame) have effectively been removed.

Clinical applications of next‐generation sequencing‐based ctDNA analyses in breast cancer: defining treatment targets and dynamic changes during disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a possibility for different applications in early and late stage breast cancer management. In early breast cancer tumor informed approaches are increasingly used for detecting molecular residual disease (MRD) and early recurrence. In advanced stage, ctDNA provides a possibility for monitoring disease progression and

Stochastic Capsule Endoscopy Image Enhancement

open access: yesJournal of Imaging, 2018
Capsule endoscopy, which uses a wireless camera to take images of the digestive tract, is emerging as an alternative to traditional colonoscopy. The diagnostic values of these images depend on the quality of revealed underlying tissue surfaces. In this paper, we consider the problem of enhancing the visibility of detail and shadowed tissue surfaces for
