Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Performance evaluation of image enhancement techniques on a digital image-intensifier

open access: yes, 2009
Recently new techniques for night-vision cameras are developed. Digital image-intensifiers are becoming available on the market. Also, so-called EMCCD cameras are developed, which may even be able to record color information about the scene.

Intensifiers and image schemas: Schema type determines intensifier type

open access: yes, 2016
This paper develops a theory whereby the type of intensifier that a source word grammaticalizes as is determined by the semantics of the source word.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

3D-profiling by optical demodulation with an image intensifier

open access: yes, 2022
S.191-196 : Ill., Lit.The acquirement of 3D-information is currently achieved by stereophotography, line and grid projection techniques or by laser scanning in combination with a fast distance measuring device.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Multiple-exposure image-intensifier camera. [For photography of detonations]

open access: yes, 1976
An image-intensifier camera with light gain of a few thousand times and exposure pulse times as short as 8 ns has been applied to the study of high explosives.

Application of gain-modulated image intensifier in biomedical imaging

open access: yes, 2012
In recent years, the incorporation of image intensifiers into charge-coupled-device (CCD) devices has resulted in intensified CCD (ICCD) systems, which possess high sensitivity in low light conditions, as well as high temporal resolution.
