ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

Utilizing Smart Objects, Smart Filters, and Layers for Nondestructive Radiology Image Editing
The latest versions of Photoshop have introduced powerful and useful tools to radiologists. By using the program's Smart Objects, Smart Filters, and Layers, we can now preserve the original quality of our images and perform nondestructive, reversible ...

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

What Can We Actually See Using Computer Aided Detection in Mammography?
The main goal of this study was to compare the results of computer aided detection (CAD) analysis in screening mammography with the results independently obtained by two radiologists for the same samples and to determine the sensitivity and specificity

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

POSTOPERATIVE STABILITY AFTER VOLAR LOCKING PLATE IN DISTAL RADIUS FRACTURES [PDF]
Objective: To evaluate the correction and maintenance of radiographic parameters—volar tilt (VT), radial inclination (RI), and radial height (RH)—from the preoperative period to outpatient discharge in distal radius fractures treated with a volar locking
