Subspaces Clustering Approach to Lossy Image Compression [PDF]
In this contribution lossy image compression based on subspaces clustering is considered. Given a PCA factorization of each cluster into subspaces and a maximal compression error, we show that the selection of those subspaces that provide the optimal lossy image compression is equivalent to the 0-1 Knapsack Problem.

Efficient Lossy Compression for Compressive Sensing Acquisition of Images in Compressive Sensing Imaging Systems [PDF]
Compressive Sensing Imaging (CSI) is a new framework for image acquisition, which enables the simultaneous acquisition and compression of a scene. Since the characteristics of Compressive Sensing (CS) acquisition are very different from traditional image

l bnl compress: Lossy but not lossy compression, a python script to compress MX data [PDF]
l_bnl_compress.py is a python script implementing the lossy compressions described in [1] for macromolecular crystallographic diffraction data. The lossy compressions use pixel-by-pixel binning, image-by-image summing, JPEG-2000 Daubechies (DB) wavelet ...

Unlocking the potential of digital pathology: Novel baselines for compression [PDF]
Digital pathology offers a groundbreaking opportunity to transform clinical practice in histopathological image analysis, yet faces a significant hurdle: the substantial file sizes of pathological whole slide images (WSIs).

Evaluation and analysis of image compression effect on neural network-based heart rate classification [PDF]
In this study, we evaluated and analyzed the effects of image compression on a neural network (NN)-based heart rate (HR) classification system. An NN-based HR-estimation system classifies facial images into groups of HR intervals.

Adaptive Vector Quantization for Lossy Compression of Image Sequences
In this work, we present a scheme for the lossy compression of image sequences, based on the Adaptive Vector Quantization (AVQ) algorithm. The AVQ algorithm is a lossy compression algorithm for grayscale images, which processes the input data in a single-

Accuracy analysis of lossless and lossy disparity map compression
In this paper, we analysed lossless and lossy compression of disparity (depth) images with low range resolution. For that goal, the well-known publicly available Middlebury dataset is used with stereo image pairs, their disparity ground truths and ...

IWCD-PROPOSED IMAGE COMPRESSION METHOD BASED ON INTEGER WAVELET AND DCT [PDF]
This paper describes a new lossy image compression decompression algorithm. In lossy compression techniques there are some loss of information, and image cannot be reconstructed exactly. This algorithm will be referred to as (IWDC), which stands for ...
