Template Matching in Rotated Images

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 1985
A rotationally invariant template matching using normalized invariant moments is described. It is shown that if normalized invariant moments in circular windows are used, then template matching in rotated images becomes similar to template matching in translated images.

Image Feature Matching Before Image Fusion

2020
Image matching is the most important factors that restrict image fusion technology development. The quality of image matching is directly related to the quality of image fusion. The image with low matching degree will have serious distortion in fusion, and high-precision matching is a NP problem. The method of coarse matching + fine matching is adopted.

Sequence matching of images

Proceedings of 8th International Conference on Scientific and Statistical Data Base Management, 2002
We propose an inter-sequence matching method for exact and similarity matching of image sequences. Our method transforms the image sequence matching problem into matching sequences of real numbers. The method does not require sequences to be of the same length. It uses a modified version of the longest common sequence (LCS) method for actually matching

Deformation invariant image matching

Tenth IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV'05) Volume 1, 2005
We propose a novel framework to build descriptors of local intensity that are invariant to general deformations. In this framework, an image is embedded as a 2D surface in 3D space, with intensity weighted relative to distance in x-y. We show that as this weight increases, geodesic distances on the embedded surface are less affected by image ...

Side match and overlap match vector quantizers for images

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 1992
A class of vector quantizers with memory that are known as finite state vector quantizers (FSVQs) in the image coding framework is investigated. Two FSVQ designs, namely side match vector quantizers (SMVQs) and overlap match vector quantizers (OMVQs), are introduced. These designs take advantage of the 2-D spatial contiguity of pixel vectors as well as

Matching stereo satellite images

[1992] Proceedings. 11th IAPR International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2003
Stereo SPOT satellite images were matched by extracting and then matching linear features. The features were extracted by grouping pixels into regions upon similar gradient orientation. Lines are fitted to regions and parameters calculated providing a rich set of attributes, which are then used to match corresponding features in the stereo images. >

Image Matching and Registration

2016
When we compare two images, we are faced with the following basic question: when are two images the same or similar, and how can this similarity be measured? Of course one could trivially define two images I 1, I 2 as being identical when all pixel values are the same (i.e., the difference I 1 – I 2 is zero).

Digital Image Matching in Photogrammetry

1996
The paper describes some of the researches developed by the authors since 1989, about a software system designed for photogrammetric positioning and for generation of a Digital Height Model by automatic image matching. The general concepts of the system, the structure of the software and some results are described and discussed.
