Image motion estimation-convergence and error analysis

Proceedings 2001 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. No.01CH37205), 2002
The paper computes the reliability of estimates of image motion parameters. The use of such measures of reliability to weight motion estimates improves significantly the performance of motion analysis tasks such as the recovery of 3D structure (see Irani, M. and Anandan, R., ECCV, vol.1, p.539-53, 2000; Aguiar, P.M.Q.

Motion analysis of articulated objects from monocular images

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2006
This paper presents a new method of motion analysis of articulated objects from feature point correspondences over monocular perspective images without imposing any constraints on motion. An articulated object is modeled as a kinematic chain consisting of joints and links, and its 3D joint positions are estimated within a scale factor using the ...

Optical model for motion image analysis

Systems and Computers in Japan, 1995
AbstractIn previous analysis of the motion image, the existence of the light source has not particularly been considered. In this paper, the optical model describing the relations among the light source, the object and the view point is introduced. The optical flow estimation problem is discussed based on the gradient method, using the constructed ...

RELIABLE MOTION DETECTION AND ANALYSIS IN LIVE-CELL IMAGING

2007 4th IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging: From Nano to Macro, 2007
We describe an alternative method to tracking for analyzing the motion of fluorescent spots in 3D+time video-microscopy. First, we realize motion detection by viewing the 3D+T spatio-temporal as a single 4D volume and detecting simultaneous significant change in the fluorescence of groups of neighboring voxels as spatio-temporal locations with high ...

Camera Motion Estimation by Image Feature Analysis

2005
In this paper, we propose an algorithm to characterize camera motion in video sequences based on image feature analysis. The approach predicts camera motion using spatio-temporal information obtained from tracking selected feature points throughout an image sequence.

Facial and Motion Analysis for Image and Video Retrieval

2001
Today’s challenge in automated image retrieval is to devise a system which is able to analyse a single or sequence of images, and extract enough information to provide a meaningful description of the scene and events presented. Computer vision has been studying this problem for some 50 years, trying to solve the general “image understanding” problem ...

Analysis of the Image of Librarians in Motion Pictures

Journal of Information Management, 2008
The purpose of this research is to contribute to improvement strategy by defining public image for librarians in motion pictures. Therefore, this research analyzed image of librarians in the motion pictures which librarian appeared as a character and produced in Korea and America from the year 1992 to 2006 through quantitative content analysis method.

Analysis of motion and curvature in image sequences

Proceedings Fifth IEEE Southwest Symposium on Image Analysis and Interpretation, 2003
We briefly review a recent development in the area of computer vision and multidimensional signal processing. Image sequences are regarded as hypersurfaces and useful properties are derived from the geometry of that hypersurface. Besides demonstrating the uniqueness of curvature, new methods for the analysis of single and multiple motions are presented

Image Sequence Analysis: Motion Estimation

1981
The processing of image sequences involving motion has become increasingly important. The following is a partial list of applications: 1) Military problems — Tracking of multi targets from video data. Measuring missile dynamics from video data. Target detection and recognition in Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) image sequences.
