Image processing techniques in computer-assisted patch clamping

SPIE Proceedings, 2010
Patch clamping is used in electrophysiology to study single or multiple ion channels in cells. Multiple micropipettes are used as electrodes to collect data from several cells. Placement of these electrodes is a time consuming and complicated task due to the lack of depth perception, limited view through the microscope lens and the possibility of ...

Computer-assisted image processing 12 lead ECG model to diagnose hyperkalemia

Journal of Electrocardiology, 2017
We sought to develop an improved 12 lead ECG model to diagnose hyperkalemia by use of traditional and novel parameters. We retrospectively analyzed ECGs in consecutive hyperkalemic patients (serum potassium (K)>5.3mEq/L) by blinded investigators with normokalemic ECGs as internal controls.

Computer-assisted quantification and image processing of whole-body autoradiograms

Journal of Pharmacological Methods, 1990
A computerized image-processing system especially adapted for analysis of whole-body autoradiograms has been developed. It consists of commercially available standard components, including a black-and-white video camera, a microcomputer, and graphics equipment.

A multicentre comparison of computer assisted image processing and display methods in scintigraphy

Physics in Medicine & Biology, 1979
Using a series of 100 brain scintigrams, 50 with single 'mathematical tumours' superimposed, a comparison is made of several processing and display methods used at various institutions in the United Kingdom. The survey compares results from seven centres and includes most types of computer generated display in current use.

An intercomparison of computer assisted image processing and display methods in liver scintigraphy

Physics in Medicine & Biology, 1979
A previous study (ibid., vol.24, p.547 (1979)) has assessed processing and display methods used in scintigraphy by superimposing 'mathematical tumours' onto clinically normal brain scintigrams. In this paper the technique is applied to liver scintigraphy and a selection of techniques assessed.

An objective method to measure cell survival by computer-assisted image processing of numeric images of Petri dishes

Physics in Medicine and Biology, 2003
This work establishes an objective method to measure cell clonogenic survival by computer-assisted image processing using images of cell cultures fixed and stained in Petri dishes. The procedure, developed by Samba Technologies, consists of acquiring Petri dish pictures with a desktop scanner and analysing them by computer, using algorithms based on ...
