Reconstruction Algorithms for Electromagnetic Imaging
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2003Two algorithms for image reconstruction in electromagnetic imaging are proposed. The first approach concerns the application of a hybrid version of the genetic algorithm to tomographic imaging of dielectric configurations. In the second approach, buried inhomogeneities are schematized as multilayer infinite dielectric cylinders with elliptic cross ...

Image Reconstruction of an Emerging Optical Imager
2019The emerging optical imager can reduce the system weight, size and power consumption by an order of magnitude compared to conventional optical telescopes at the same resolution. It utilizes Fourier-domain interferometry and samples by radial scheme. To date, there is little research on efficient image reconstruction algorithm of it.

Maximum Entropy Image Reconstruction
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1977Two-dimensional digital image reconstruction is an important imaging process in many of the physical sciences. If the data are insufficient to specify a unique reconstruction, an additional criterion must be introduced, either implicitly or explicitly before the best estimate can be computed. Here we use a principle of maximum entropy, which has proven

Image Reconstruction by Multilabel Propagation
2017This work presents a non-convex variational approach to joint image reconstruction and labeling. Our regularization strategy, based on the KL-divergence, takes into account the smooth geometry on the space of discrete probability distributions. The proposed objective function is efficiently minimized via DC programming which amounts to solving a ...

Image Reconstruction in Optoacoustics.
2015This thesis investigates reconstruction techniques for optoacoustic (oa) imaging, implemented both in pulsed and continuous wave (cw) mode. Two approaches to incorporate the transducer geometry into model-based reconstruction are implemented and its benefits showcased in simulations and experiments.

Image coding with optimal reconstruction
Proceedings of International Conference on Image Processing, 2002The optimal reconstruction is an advanced decoding technique for the transform-quantization image coding schemes such as JPEG. From the same encoded data, the image decoded by the optimal reconstruction has better quality than the conventional one. In particular, the optimal reconstruction does not suffer from the Gibbs artifact.

Abstract An image defines a probability distribution for where the next photon will land. This probability distribution can be estimated by counting the number of photons detected in each ‘pixel’’ of the image. On account of fluctuations in the density of air and defects in the camera, this probability distribution differs from the one ...
