Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Dimensionality reduction of medical image descriptors for multimodal image registration
Defining similarity forms a challenging and relevant research topic in multimodal image registration. The frequently used mutual information disregards contextual information, which is shared across modalities.

Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

A Robust Digital Elevation Model-Based Registration Method for Mini-RF/Mini-SAR Images
SAR data from the lunar spaceborne Reconnaissance Orbiter’s (LRO) Mini-RF and Chandrayaan-1’s Mini-SAR provide valuable insights into the properties of the lunar surface. However, public lunar SAR data products are not properly registered and are limited

Digital TV image enhancement system [PDF]
Efficient, digital image-enhancement process has been developed for high-resolution slow-scan TV images. Scan converter is no longer subject to registration errors, which become more serious as resolution increases.

A subset of MMR‐proficient colon cancers responds to neoadjuvant immunotherapy
Tan et al. reveal that a distinct subset of early‐stage pMMR colon cancers can respond to neoadjuvant immunotherapy. In the NICHE‐2 trial, responders (26%) were characterized by chromosomal instability, TP53 mutations, and proliferative cell‐cycle programs, whereas nonresponders showed metabolic and stromal reprogramming with TGF‐β‐driven ...

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Contourlet-Based Edge Extraction for Image Registration
Image registration is a crucial step in most image processing tasks for which the final result is achieved from a combination of various resources. In general, the majority of registration methods consist of the following four steps: feature extraction ...
