Asymmetric Image-Template Registration [PDF]
A natural requirement in pairwise image registration is that the resulting deformation is independent of the order of the images. This constraint is typically achieved via a symmetric cost function and has been shown to reduce the effects of local optima.

Statistical Motion Mask and Sliding Registration [PDF]
Accurate registration of images depicting respiratory motion, e.g. 4DCT or 4DMR, can be challenging due to sliding motion that occurs between the chest wall and organs within the pleural sac (lungs, mediastinum, liver).

IVUS Longitudinal and Axial Registration for Atherosclerosis Progression Evaluation
Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) imaging offers accurate cross-sectional vessel information. To this end, registering temporal IVUS pullbacks acquired at two time points can assist the clinicians to accurately assess pathophysiological changes in the ...

An Image Registration Method for Colposcopic Images [PDF]
A nonrigid body image registration method for spatiotemporal alignment of image sequences obtained from colposcopy examinations to detect precancerous lesions of the cervix is proposed in this paper. The approach is based on time series calculation for those pixels in the first image of the sequence and a division of such image into small windows.

Variational image registration using inhomogeneous regularization [PDF]
We present a generalization of the convolution basedvariational image registration approach, in which differentregularizers can be implemented by conveniently exchangingthe convolution kernel, even if it is nonseparableor nonstationary.

Faroe Islands rephotography image registration dataset
Over 200 georeferenced registered rephotographic compilations of the Faroe Islands are provided in this dataset. The position of each compilation is georeferenced and thus locatable on a map.

Registration of Pathological Images [PDF]
This paper proposes an approach to improve atlas-to-image registration accuracy with large pathologies. Instead of directly registering an atlas to a pathological image, the method learns a mapping from the pathological image to a quasi-normal image, for which more accurate registration is possible.

Performance Bounds on Image Registration [PDF]
Although a vast number of publications have appeared on image registration, performance analysis is usually performed visually and little attention has been given to statistical performance bounds. Such bounds can be useful in evaluating image registration techniques, determining parameter regions where more successful registration is possible, and ...
