High-Resolution Image Synthesis with Latent Diffusion Models [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2021
By decomposing the image formation process into a sequential application of denoising autoencoders, diffusion models (DMs) achieve state-of-the-art synthesis results on image data and beyond. Additionally, their formulation allows for a guiding mechanism

Applicability of Convolutional Neural Networks for Calibration of Nonlinear Dynamic Models of Structures

open access: yesFrontiers in Built Environment, 2022
The objective of this study is to examine a machine learning (ML) framework for calibrating the parameters of analytical models of complex nonlinear structural systems where experimental data is significantly limited.

Image-based BRDF Representation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Informatics, 2015
Abstract To acquire a certain level of photorealism in computer graphics, it is necessary to analyze, how the materials scatter the incident light. In this work, we propose the method to direct rendering of isotropic bidirectional reflectance function (BRDF) from the small set of images. The image-based rendering is focused to synthesize

Quantum Steganography Using Two Hidden Thresholds

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2021
This paper describes a novel steganography algorithm that combines quantum computing with the least significant bit technique (LSB). Using the quantum properties, along with the Python programming language and the Qiskit framework for the circuit ...

Hierarchical Text-Conditional Image Generation with CLIP Latents [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv.org, 2022
Contrastive models like CLIP have been shown to learn robust representations of images that capture both semantics and style. To leverage these representations for image generation, we propose a two-stage model: a prior that generates a CLIP image ...

Robust Ensemble Manifold Projective Non-Negative Matrix Factorization for Image Representation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Projective non-negative matrix factorization (PNMF) as a variant of NMF has received considerable attention. However, the existing PNMF methods can be further improved from two aspects.

Sparse representation of astronomical images [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Optical Society of America A, 2013
Sparse representation of astronomical images is discussed. It is shown that a significant gain in sparsity is achieved when particular mixed dictionaries are used for approximating these types of images with greedy selection strategies. Experiments are conducted to confirm: i)Effectiveness at producing sparse representations.

FNRegion: A fast NAM‐based region extraction algorithm

open access: yesIET Image Processing, 2023
Region extraction is usually used by many computer vision tasks as a pre‐processing step to extract image features. However, how to efficiently extract effective regions remains a challenging problem.

Representing Blurred Image without Deblurring

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
The effective recognition of patterns from blurred images presents a fundamental difficulty for many practical vision tasks. In the era of deep learning, the main ideas to cope with this difficulty are data augmentation and deblurring.
