Towards Content-based Pixel Retrieval in Revisited Oxford and Paris [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
This paper introduces the first two pixel retrieval benchmarks. Pixel retrieval is segmented instance retrieval. Like semantic segmentation extends classification to the pixel level, pixel retrieval is an extension of image retrieval and offers information about which pixels are related to the query object.

Structured Knowledge Representation for Image Retrieval

open access: yes, 2011
We propose a structured approach to the problem of retrieval of images by content and present a description logic that has been devised for the semantic indexing and retrieval of images containing complex objects.

Research of Image Retrieval Method Based on Improved Feature [PDF]

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao, 2018
In the process of image retrieval, the traditional single feature can't reflect the distribution and details of image color and content, which have some adverse influence on the performance of image retrieval.

Probabilistic Compositional Embeddings for Multimodal Image Retrieval [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Existing works in image retrieval often consider retrieving images with one or two query inputs, which do not generalize to multiple queries. In this work, we investigate a more challenging scenario for composing multiple multimodal queries in image retrieval.

Digital Image Access & Retrieval [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The 33th Annual Clinic on Library Applications of Data Processing, held at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in March of 1996, addressed the theme of "Digital Image Access & Retrieval." The papers from this conference cover a wide range of ...

Embedding based on function approximation for large scale image search

open access: yes, 2017
The objective of this paper is to design an embedding method that maps local features describing an image (e.g. SIFT) to a higher dimensional representation useful for the image retrieval problem.

An Aquatic Organism Image Retrieval Hash Algorithm Based on DCT

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
In order to overcome the disadvantages of traditional image retrieval algorithms such as inefficiency and time-consuming, an image retrieval algorithm based on DCT Hash is proposed.

A Novel Adaptive Feature Fusion Strategy for Image Retrieval

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
In the era of big data, it is challenging to efficiently retrieve the required images from the vast amount of data. Therefore, a content-based image retrieval system is an important research direction to address this problem. Furthermore, a multi-feature-

Content-based Image Retrieval and the Semantic Gap in the Deep Learning Era [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Content-based image retrieval has seen astonishing progress over the past decade, especially for the task of retrieving images of the same object that is depicted in the query image. This scenario is called instance or object retrieval and requires matching fine-grained visual patterns between images.

RetrievalGuard: Provably Robust 1-Nearest Neighbor Image Retrieval [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Recent research works have shown that image retrieval models are vulnerable to adversarial attacks, where slightly modified test inputs could lead to problematic retrieval results. In this paper, we aim to design a provably robust image retrieval model which keeps the most important evaluation metric Recall@1 invariant to adversarial perturbation.
