Saliency Aggregation: Multifeature and Neighbor Based Salient Region Detection for Social Images

open access: yesApplied Computational Intelligence and Soft Computing, 2018
The popularity of social networks has brought the rapid growth of social images which have become an increasingly important image type. One of the most obvious attributes of social images is the tag.

Context-aware saliency detection for image retargeting using convolutional neural networks [PDF]

open access: yesMultimedia tools and applications, 2019
Image retargeting is the task of making images capable of being displayed on screens with different sizes. This work should be done so that high-level visual information and low-level features such as texture remain as intact as possible to the human ...

Chronological and Spatial Distribution of Skeletal Muscle Fat Replacement in FHL1‐Related Myopathies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Variants in the FHL1 gene cause FHL1‐related myopathies (FHL1‐RMs), a group of neuromuscular disorders with diverse clinical presentations. This study aimed to comprehensively characterize the spatial and temporal patterns of skeletal muscle fat replacement throughout the whole body in FHL1‐RMs, to examine disease progression over ...

Change Detection in Multitemporal High Spatial Resolution Remote-Sensing Images Based on Saliency Detection and Spatial Intuitionistic Fuzzy C-Means Clustering

open access: yesJournal of Spectroscopy, 2020
In order to improve the change detection accuracy of multitemporal high spatial resolution remote-sensing (HSRRS) images, a change detection method of multitemporal remote-sensing images based on saliency detection and spatial intuitionistic fuzzy C ...

A Multi-Scale Colour and Keypoint Density-Based Approach for Visual Saliency Detection

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In the first seconds of observation of an image, several visual attention processes are involved in the identification of the visual targets that pop-out from the scene to our eyes. Saliency is the quality that makes certain regions of an image stand out

A saliency guided remote sensing image dehazing network model

open access: yesIET Image Processing, 2022
This article presents a saliency guided remote sensing image dehazing network model. It consists of the following three blocks: A dense residual based backbone network, a saliency map generator, and a deformed atmospheric scattering model (ASM) based ...

Saliency for Spectral Image Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2013
We introduce a new feature extraction model for purposes of image comparison, visualization and interpretation. We define the notion of spectral saliency, as the extent to which a certain group of pixels stands out in an image and in terms of reflectance, rather than in terms of colorimetric attributes as it is the case in traditional saliency studies.

Variably Protease‐Sensitive Prionopathy: Two New Cases With Motor Neuron‐Dementia Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe two patients with variably protease‐sensitive prionopathy (VPSPr) who developed progressive upper motor neuron symptoms, insomnia, behavioral and cognitive decline, compatible with primary lateral sclerosis associated with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

Hierarchical mask creation for intelligent image coding using saliency maps

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advances in Telecommunications, Electrotechnics, Signals and Systems, 2016
In this paper we analyze basic mask creation methods for intelligent image coding using saliency maps. For saliency maps based image coding we use specific extension of SPIHT algorithm called SM SPIHT related to region of interest encoding but extending ...
