Isocentric color saliency in images
2009 16th IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2009In this paper we propose a novel computational method to infer visual saliency in images. The computational method is based on the idea that salient objects should have local characteristics that are different than the rest of the scene, being edges, color or shape, and that these characteristics can be combined to infer global information.

Saliency for image manipulation
The Visual Computer, 2012Every picture tells a story. In photography, the story is portrayed by a composition of objects, commonly referred to as the subjects of the piece. Were we to remove these objects, the story would be lost. When manipulating images, either for artistic rendering or cropping, it is crucial that the story of the piece remains intact.

Saliency-Aware Image Completion
2014 IEEE 17th International Conference on Computational Science and Engineering, 2014In this paper, we present a saliency-aware image completion method which takes full advantage of a saliency detection result. On one hand, the saliency map is incorporated into the completion order computation procedure to take human visual attention into account. On the other hand, the saliency map used in patch matching makes the searched result more

Saliency based image segmentation
2011 International Conference on Multimedia Technology, 2011This paper presents a novel method for image segmentation. We improved the effect of saliency detection for the purpose of image segmentation. Graph cuts are used to find global optimal segmentation of N-dimensional image. With the guidance of saliency, users do not have to select foreground object and background seeds.

Image Diffusion Using Saliency Bilateral Filter
IEEE Transactions on Information Technology in Biomedicine, 2008Image diffusion can smooth away noise and small-scale structures while retaining important features, thus improving the performances for many image processing algorithms. In this paper, we present a novel diffusion algorithm for which the filtering kernels vary according to the perceptual saliency of boundaries.

A segment-based image saliency detection
2011 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2011This paper presents a novel method of visual saliency detection. The use of saliency promises benefits to multimedia applications. However, up to now just few reasonable applications of saliency exist. It is clear that limited accuracy is one of the possible reasons for this.

V-BMS360: A Video Extention to the BMS360 Image Saliency Model
2018 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo Workshops (ICMEW), 2018In this paper it is studied how existing image saliency models for head motion prediction designed for omnidirectional images can be applied to videos. A new model called V-BMS360 which extends the BMS360 model is presented.
