Upcycling Keratin‐Based Textile Waste Into High‐Performance Hybrid Fibers Via Tuning the Interfacial Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Keratin recovered from animal‐hair textile waste is fractionated and blended with cellulose to produce continuously spun hybrid fibers. Selecting the high‐molecular‐weight keratin fraction enables 30 wt.% keratin incorporation while maintaining high strength in dry and wet states.

Content-Adaptive Automatic Image Sharpening

open access: yes2010 20th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2010
Optimal sharpness differs from image to image, de-pending on the content. In general, human observer prefers images of artifacts sharper and those of natural-objects less sharper. We have developed a content-adaptive automatic image sharpening algorithm that relies on the length of lines extracted from the image. It is applicable to images with various

An integrated scheme to improve pan-sharpening visual quality of satellite images

open access: yesEgyptian Informatics Journal, 2015
Pan-sharpening is the process to fuse a low-resolution multispectral (MS) image with a high-resolution panchromatic (Pan) image to construct high spatial and spectral resolution MS image.

Swin–MRDB: Pan-Sharpening Model Based on the Swin Transformer and Multi-Scale CNN

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Pan-sharpening aims to create high-resolution spectrum images by fusing low-resolution hyperspectral (HS) images with high-resolution panchromatic (PAN) images. Inspired by the Swin transformer used in image classification tasks, this research constructs

Desert Plant Inspired Hierarchical Nanofibrous Membranes for Integrated Solar Desalination and Heavy Metal Remediation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An Alhagi maurorum inspired hierarchical composite membrane (NFCu) was developed by integrating heavy metal remediation and solar‐driven interfacial evaporation in a single platform. Beyond the photothermal effect, a localized photocatalytic process is realized on the CuO surface, deepening the mechanistic understanding of light–matter–water ...

An Adaptive Inhibitory WSe2 Transistor for Retinomorphic In‐Sensor Image Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conventional retinomorphic devices typically require deliberate gate‐bias tuning for each illumination condition. In this paper, we demonstrate an adaptive inhibitory WSe2 transistor that uses photo‐induced regime shift between the subthreshold and accumulation modes to achieve decision‐free, intensity‐adaptive image processing within a single pixel ...

Perceptual Quality Assessment of Pan-Sharpened Images [PDF]

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2019
Pan-sharpening (PS) is a method of fusing the spatial details of a high-resolution panchromatic (PAN) image with the spectral information of a low-resolution multi-spectral (MS) image. Visual inspection is a crucial step in the evaluation of fused products whose subjectivity renders the assessment of pansharpened data a challenging problem.

A new extraction method of underglaze brown decorative pattern based on the coupling of single scale gamma correction and gray sharpening.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
In order to solve the problem of image quality and morphological characteristics of primary underglaze brown decorative pattern extraction, this paper proposes a method of primary underglaze brown decorative pattern extraction based on the coupling of ...

A hue-preserving unsharp masking with adjustable saturation using logarithmic ratio operations

open access: yesFranklin Open
Unsharp masking is a typical image sharpening technique. When this technique is applied to a color image, each RGB component is processed independently and the color image is reconstructed from the outputs obtained for each component.

HYPERSPECTRAL IMAGE SHARPENING BASED ON EHLERS FUSION [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2017
As the application of hyperspectral images is increasing, many researchers attempt to extend existing pansharpening techniques to hyperspectral images. This paper focuses on the application of Ehlers fusion to hyperspectral image sharpening.
