Improvement of a Video Sequence Singular Image
Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Advances in Artificial Intelligence, 2018In the paper a method of preliminary improvement of video sequence images is suggested. The aim of further processing of the improved images is search and recognition of objects on a complex background. Originality of the method consists in analysis of a contribution coefficient, calculated for the single images of the video sequence.

Image restoration by singular value decomposition
Applied Optics, 1975We demonstrate by a computer simulation example that singular value decomposition is a powerful tool for restoring noisy linearly degraded images. We also discuss a way of reducing the computation time requirement.

Singularity-Exponent-Domain Image Feature Transform
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2021Combining the generalized fractal theory and the time-frequency distribution, the image feature decomposition in the singularity exponent domain is studied in this paper. With the theoretical derivation and quantitative analysis, the singularity-exponent-domain image feature transform (SIFT) method is proposed to analyze and process images from new ...

Image Fusion Using Adjustable Non-subsampled Shearlet Transform
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2019Multiscale transform (MST) and sparse representation (SR)-based image fusion techniques are widely used in many applications. However, the existing fusion methods are inefficient to perfectly seize significant details and texture information of input ...

Detection of singular points in fingerprint images
Pattern Recognition, 1992Abstract This paper describes a technique for the detection of singular points in a fingerprint image. The singular points, namely the core and the delta points, are used as points of registration in fingerprint matching. This method makes use of structural information culled from the directional histograms of the directional image of a fingerprint ...

Image inpainting via singular value thresholding
2013 21st Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2013This paper proposes an inpainting technique based on the singular value thresholding (SVT) algorithm for matrix completion. The SVT algorithm computes the missing elements of a matrix so that the resultant matrix is an approximate of the completion with least rank.

Superresolution at the singularities of phase images
Quantum Electronics, 2002Measurements performed with an Airyscan laser phase microscope showed the possibility of localisation of structural elements of a surface with a large gradient of the profile height and linear dimensions as small as 25 — 40 nm, which is 10 — 15 times lower than the Rayleigh criterion.

Singular vector sparse reconstruction for image compression
Computers & Electrical Engineering, 2021Abstract Generally, more than half of smaller singular values and corresponding singular vectors should be abandoned to achieve the image compression function for the compression method based on singular value decomposition (SVD). Although these discarded parts contain some noise and fuzzy factors, they also contain some detailed information to boost

Imaging with singular electromagnetic beam
SPIE Proceedings, 2006Laguerre-Gaussian beams are considered as basis functions for inverse scattering applications. First order perturbation theory is applied to paraxial higher order Gaussian beams. Information about the scattering potential is deduced from the coupling coefficients between otherwise orthogonal modes.
