Ultrasonic transmission imaging
1978The problem of imaging cross sections of opaque bodies by means of ultrasonic transmissions is considered. Images are computed from measurements of ultrasonic propagation delay times through the body section. The grey levels in the image depend on the ultrasonic propagation velocity in the body section.

International transmission of tele-ophthalmology images
Journal of Telemedicine and Telecare, 2000Tele-ophthalmic consultations were conducted between a hospital in East Java, Indonesia, and an ophthalmology centre in Perth, Western Australia. Twenty-two eyes of 14 subjects were screened for glaucoma using a hand-held fundus camera. Optic disc images comprised 267 x 234 pixels at 24 bit/pixel (187 kByte).

Error recovery in JPEG2000 image transmission

No.01CH37221), 2002In this paper, the problem of bit-errors recovery in JPEG2000 images transmission is addressed, with particular attention to errors in the high-frequency components. In the HL and LH sub-bands, differently from the LL band, interpolation based recovering results tend to be often ineffective when more than a few adjacent wavelet coefficients are missing.
