A Penalized Likelihood Approach to Image Warping [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 2001
Summary A warping is a function that deforms images by mapping between image domains. The choice of function is formulated statistically as maximum penalized likelihood, where the likelihood measures the similarity between images after warping and the penalty is a measure of distortion of a warping.

Blind First-Order Perspective Distortion Correction Using Parallel Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesSensors, 2020
In this work, we present a network architecture with parallel convolutional neural networks (CNN) for removing perspective distortion in images. While other works generate corrected images through the use of generative adversarial networks or encoder ...

Optimizing Local Alignment along the Seamline for Parallax-Tolerant Orthoimage Mosaicking

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Orthoimage mosaicking with obvious parallax caused by geometric misalignment is a challenging problem in the field of remote sensing. Because the obvious objects are not included in the digital terrain model (DTM), large parallax exists in these objects.

DYNAMIC TIME WARPING FOR CROPS MAPPING [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2020
Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) has been successfully used for crops mapping due to its capability to achieve good classification results when a reduced number of training samples and irregular satellite image time series is available.

Instance-Warp: Saliency Guided Image Warping for Unsupervised Domain Adaptation [PDF]

open access: green2025 IEEE/CVF Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision (WACV)
Driving is challenging in conditions like night, rain, and snow. Lack of good labeled datasets has hampered progress in scene understanding under such conditions. Unsupervised Domain Adaptation (UDA) using large labeled clear-day datasets is a promising research direction in such cases.

ProPane: image warping with fire

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society
ABSTRACT In this paper, we introduce the software package propane, written for the r data analysis language. propane combines the full range of wcslib projections with the C++ image manipulation routines provided by the cimg library. propane offers routines for image warping and combining (including stacking), and various related tasks ...

Silhouette‐Aware Warping for Image‐Based Rendering [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, 2011
AbstractImage‐based rendering (IBR) techniques allow capture and display of 3D environments using photographs. Modern IBR pipelines reconstruct proxy geometry using multi‐view stereo, reproject the photographs onto the proxy and blend them to create novel views.

Cervical Spinal Cord Magnetization Transfer Ratio and Its Relationship With Clinical Outcomes in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The cervical spinal cord (cSC) is highly relevant to clinical dysfunction in multiple sclerosis (MS) but remains understudied using quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). We assessed magnetization transfer ratio (MTR), a semi‐quantitative MRI measure sensitive to MS‐related tissue microstructural changes, in the cSC and its ...

Improved Piecewise Linear Transformation for Precise Warping of Very-High-Resolution Remote Sensing Images

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2019
A large number of evenly distributed conjugate points (CPs) in entirely overlapping regions of the images are required to achieve successful co-registration between very-high-resolution (VHR) remote sensing images.
