Accurate and reliable segmentation of the optic disc in digital fundus images [PDF]
We describe a complete pipeline for the detection and accurate automatic segmentation of the optic disc in digital fundus images. This procedure provides separation of vascular information and accurate inpainting of vessel-removed images, symmetry-based ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Implicit Image-to-Image Schrödinger Bridge for image restoration
Diffusion-based models have demonstrated remarkable effectiveness in image restoration tasks; however, their iterative denoising process, which starts from Gaussian noise, often leads to slow inference speeds. The Image-to-Image Schrödinger Bridge (I$^2$SB) offers a promising alternative by initializing the generative process from corrupted images ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

A Survey of Density Estimation for SAR Images
Modeling of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images has been an important topic of research since the inception of SAR satellites. Many theoretical and empirical models have been presented in literature to accurately model the amplitude SAR images. The

The Cortico-Basal Ganglia-Cerebellar Network: Past, Present and Future Perspectives
Much of our present understanding of the function and operation of the basal ganglia rests on models of anatomical connectivity derived from tract-tracing approaches in rodents and primates.
