Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

On (dis)agreement between different methods of calculation of the imaginary part of the effective action in expanding space-times

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
We consider two approaches to calculate imaginary parts of effective actions in expanding space-times. While the first approach uses Bogolyubov coefficients, the second one uses the functional integral or the Feynman propagator.

Space construction in media reporting: A study of the migrant space in the 'Jungles' of Calais [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Media are intrinsically implicated in constructing and framing space as well as in the imagination of communities. This paper examines how media through the spatial construct of the ‘jungle’ premises the discourses of migration between the borders of UK ...

A New Mechanism for Single Spin Asymmetries in Strong Interactions

open access: yes, 2000
It is shown that the contribution of the instantons to the fragmentation of quarks leads to the appearance of a imaginary part in diagrams of quark-quark scattering at large transfer momentum.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

FOREWORD. THE IMAGINARY OF THE LINGUISTIC IMAGINARY

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Babeş-Bolyai. Philologia, 2023
The concept of linguistic imaginary is still in the process of being accepted and taken seriously in the Romanian academic world. Although it was coined a few decades ago by Anne-Marie Houdebine-Gravaud (2002), many Romanian linguists regard it with ...

Quasinormal modes for nh-stu black holes

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2018
We compute and investigate the behavior of scalar quasinormal frequencies for static, asymptotically anti de Sitter nh-stu black hole solution of $${\mathcal {N}}=2, D=4$$ N=2,D=4 supergravity.

RKKY interaction in gapped or doped graphene

open access: yes, 2012
In our previous work (E. Kogan, Phys. Rev. B {\bf 84}, 115119 (2011)) we calculated RKKY interaction between two magnetic impurities in pristine graphene using the Green's functions (GF) in the coordinate -- imaginary time representation.

Imaginary space: geopoetics of northern territories

open access: yesОбщество: философия, история, культура, 2019
The study deals with the semantic and cognitive analysis of landscape thinking of famous northern artists A. Osipov and Yu. Spiridonov which presents imaginary space associated with the northern territories. Both artists focus on the image of the Arctic Yakutia reflecting their unique vision of the spirit of time, space, movement, and development. From

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.
