Purification tags markedly affect self‐aggregation of CPEB3

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Although recombinant proteins are used to study protein aggregation in vitro, uncleaved tags can interfere with accurate interpretation. Our findings demonstrate that His₆‐GFP and His₁₂ tags significantly affect liquid droplet and amyloid fibril formation in the intrinsically disordered region (IDR) of mouse cytoplasmic polyadenylation element‐binding ...

Inter-phantom variability in digital mammography: implications for quality control

open access: yesEuropean Radiology Experimental
Background Phantoms play a critical role in mammography quality control (QC) by providing standardized conditions for evaluating image quality (IQ) metrics.

Functional imaging equivalence and proof of concept for image-guided adaptive radiotherapy with fixed gantry and rotating couch

open access: yesAdvances in Radiation Oncology, 2016
Purpose: The purpose of this article is to present the first imaging experiments to demonstrate the functional equivalence between a conventional rotational gantry and a fixed-beam imaging geometry, and the feasibility of an iterative image ...

Phantom Stent Thrombosis

open access: yesJACC: Cardiovascular Interventions, 2015
A 72-old-year-man was admitted for an inferior ST-segment elevation acute myocardial infarction. Seven years earlier, a 2.75 × 15-mm bare-metal stent (BMS) was successfully implanted in the posterolateral branch of the right coronary artery (RCA) at another institution.

Insights into pegRNA design from editing of the cardiomyopathy‐associated phospholamban R14del mutation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how prime editing guide RNA (pegRNA) secondary structure and reverse transcriptase template length affect prime editing efficiency in correcting the phospholamban R14del cardiomyopathy‐associated mutation. Insights support the design of structurally optimized enhanced pegRNAs for precise gene therapy.

Intron‐oriented HTLV‐1 integration in an adult T‐cell leukemia/lymphoma cell line sustains expression of intact ift81 mRNA

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In the adult T‐cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) cell line ED, the human T‐cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV‐1) provirus was integrated into the intron of the ift81 gene in the antisense orientation. Despite this integration, both the intact ift81 and the viral oncogene hbz were simultaneously expressed, likely due to the functional insufficiency of viral ...

Subjective evaluation of image quality based on images obtained with a breast tissue phantom: comparison with a conventional image quality phantom

open access: yesThe British Journal of Radiology, 1995
Abstract A breast tissue phantom was used for assessment of mammographic image quality. Three images, exposed to give a reference area film density of 1.25 ± 0.03, were obtained for each of five different film/kV combinations. Each of three radiologists carried out a series of three blind readings, in which the 15 films were ranked ...

Rewriting the dendritic cell code in cancer—from subset identity to immunotherapeutic design

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Dendritic cells (DCs) play central roles in cancer immunity but are often subverted by the tumor microenvironment. This review explores the diversity of DC subsets, their functional plasticity, and emerging therapeutic strategies to reprogram DCs for enhanced antitumor responses, including vaccines, in vivo targeting, and DC‐based immunotherapies ...

Cell‐free DNA aneuploidy score as a dynamic early response marker in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
mFast‐SeqS‐based genome‐wide aneuploidy scores are concordant with aneuploidy scores obtained by whole genome sequencing from tumor tissue and can predict response to ARSI treatment at baseline and, at an early time point, to ARSI and taxanes. This assay can be easily performed at low cost and requires little input of cfDNA. Cell‐free circulating tumor
