Ultra‐Flexible Dual‐Band Organic Photodetectors for Visible and Near‐Infrared Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 15, 17 April 2026.
An ultra‐flexible dual‐band organic photodetector with a total thickness of 5.6 µm for bio‐sensing is developed. It selectively detects visible and near‐infrared light with high sensitivity by switching the voltage. Peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO2) measurement is demonstrated using the device attached to a finger under a single light source by ...

Selective Charge Extraction Allows Fast Photomultiplication and Imaging in Rigid and Ultra‐Flexible SWIR Organic Photodiodes

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 16, Issue 16, 22 April 2026.
SWIR donor polymer TQ‐3T allows photomultiplication in OPD in 1:1 ratio with NFA Y6, achieving EQEs > 1100% at ‐10 V. Microseconds response times are retained, amongst the lowest for photomultiplication. As proof of concept, we demonstrate ultrathin and flexible PM‐OPDs based on our TQ‐3T:Y6 as a flexible pulse oximeter as well as a conformable image ...

The Dynamics of Interfacial Trap States in High‐Detectivity Near‐Infrared Photomultiplication Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 15, 19 February 2026.
Photomultiplication organic photodetectors (PM OPDs) are an attractive strategy for health‐monitoring. Here, PM‐OPDs are reported with a specific detectivity of 5.7 × 1012 Jones and external quantum efficiency values of 3500% under −10 V. The dynamics of carrier trapping in these devices are elucidated through trap selective spectroscopical techniques.

DistancePPG: Robust non-contact vital signs monitoring using a camera

open access: yes, 2015
Vital signs such as pulse rate and breathing rate are currently measured using contact probes. But, non-contact methods for measuring vital signs are desirable both in hospital settings (e.g. in NICU) and for ubiquitous in-situ health tracking (e.g.

Privacy‐Aware Federated Recommender Systems for IoT Healthcare: A Review of Computational Methods, Multimodality, and Optimization for Real‐Time Personalization

open access: yesApplied Computational Intelligence and Soft Computing, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The rapid increase in the number of internet of things (IoT) devices in the healthcare sector has produced an ecosystem of multimodal data that includes physiological signals, behavioral measurements, and electronic health records. Nevertheless, centralized analytics are dangerous to the privacy and safety of patient data.
