A software architecture for medical image processing stations

Proceedings of 1st International Conference on Image Processing, 2002
In todays hospitals the medical workstation is a basic component of any image management and communication system. The design of such component can be very complex, because of the challenging engineering requirements. In this work we present an architectural model of a flexible and portable software platform upon which medical workstations can be ...

Public signs detection in subway station images

2013 10th International Conference on Ubiquitous Robots and Ambient Intelligence (URAI), 2013
It's difficult to find location in indoor environments such as subway station and airport passenger terminal. However, the detection and recognition of public sign make it possible to find out the place to go. Proposed system can help visually impaired persons or mobile robots in unfamiliar places.

A MIMS View-Station For Orthopedic Images

SPIE Proceedings, 1988
A satellite image transmission system has been installed between an orthopedic clinic in suburban Philadelphia and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in central Philadelphia. The two facilities are approximately 15 miles apart. Images are acquired with a laser film digitizer and transmitted over a Ku-Band satellite link.

Research on Virtual 3D Station based on Images

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences, 2013
With the improvement of electric information, 3D visualization for the substation in the planning, designing, inspection, training and other aspects calls for a gradual increase. 3D rendering of the current technology is not yet mature, and equipment modelling is too complex, we propose a virtual 3D substation, which is an image-based system.

Image Understanding for Prevention of Vandalism in Metro Stations

1999
We address here the issues of developing an interpretation system describing automatically human activities from image sequences. The class of applications we are interested in, is the automatic surveillance and monitoring of metro stations scenes observed by a monocular camera. Given image sequences, an interpretation system has to recognize scenarios

The forced choice as a measure of television station image

Journal of Broadcasting, 1966
That intangible attribute of a broadcast station commonly called its “image” isn't quite as hard to measure as that other intangible asset, “good will.” Nevertheless, measurement isn't simple, and the standards for measurement are not yet agreed upon. In the following article, a new technique of indexing a station's image without special training and ...

Space station application of CCD image sensors for x-ray imaging

Space technology and applications international forum (STAIF - 97), 1997
Charge Coupled Device (CCD) type solid state image sensors are employed in a number of space based imaging experiments and will be the basis for a camera system to acquire x-ray diffraction images on board the Space Station. This paper will present the system engineering considerations that led to the selection of CCDs over other x-ray imaging ...
