A 37‐Year Retrospective Analysis Reveals a High Rate of Cutaneous Angiosarcoma of the Scalp in Okinawa, Japan

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 116, Issue 4, Page 1059-1067, April 2025.
A 37‐year retrospective analysis has revealed an exceptionally high rate of angiosarcoma of the scalp in Okinawa, Japan. This study represents the first identification of Okinawa as a hotspot for this rare cancer, the epidemiology of which has been insufficiently studied.

CML With Mutant ASXL1 Showed Decreased Sensitivity to TKI Treatment via Upregulation of the ALOX5‐BLTR Signaling Pathway

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 116, Issue 4, Page 1115-1125, April 2025.
We generated cell lines with inducible expression of ASXL1 mutations and found that ASXL1 mutation‐induced cell lines exhibited reduced ABL1 TKI sensitivity. We identified ALOX5 as one of the top upregulated genes under the expression of mutated ASXL1 and high expression of ALOX5 conferring TKI resistance. Inhibition of the ALOX5‐BLTR signaling pathway

The Adverse Impact of Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors on Wound Healing and Repair

open access: yesInternational Wound Journal, Volume 22, Issue 4, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) can treat various cancers, primarily through their antiangiogenic effects. However, as angiogenesis is crucial for successful wound healing, TKIs may adversely impact wound repair. This review analysed all 63 FDA‐approved TKIs and identified evidence for wound healing and repair implications in 24 agents.
