Crop Responses to Hexazinone, Imazapyr, Tebuthiuron, and Triclopyr

Weed Technology, 1993
Field investigations were conducted for 2 yr to characterize the responses of wheat, kidney bean, field corn, squash, okra, potato, and banana to soil-applied hexazinone, imazapyr, tebuthiuron, and triclopyr at rates used for control of woody perennial plants.

Field Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis) Control with Imazapyr

Weed Technology, 1990
Sixteen applications of imazapyr and other herbicides were made to field bindweed from 1982 to 1986. Control with imazapyr was 89% or more 1 yr after treatment at 0.14 kg ai ha-1when plants were growing vigorously at application. Only 1 of 16 applications of imazapyr at 0.56 kg ha-1controlled less than 90% regardless of plant vigor.

Comparability of imazapyr-resistant Arabidopsis created by transgenesis and mutagenesis

Transgenic Research, 2012
The Arabidopsis CSR1 gene codes for the enzyme acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS, EC 2.2.1.6), also known as acetolactate synthase, which catalyzes the first step in branched-chain amino acid biosynthesis. It is inhibited by several classes of herbicides, including the imidazolinone herbicides, such as imazapyr; however, a substitution mutation in csr1-2

CORRELATION OF IMAZAPYR ADSORPTION AND DESORPTION WITH SOIL PROPERTIES

Soil Science, 1999
Adsorption and desorption of imazapyr on eight soils were examined using a batch equilibration technique. Equilibrium was able to be reached within 20 h of shaking time. The adsorbed percent increased both with the increase in bath temperature and the decrease in soil pH. The adsorption and desorption isotherms fit the Freundlich equation well.

Sorption of imazapic and imazapyr herbicides on chitosan-modified biochars

International Journal of Environmental Science and Technology, 2020
This study aimed to synthesize chitosan-modified biochars with the objective of producing an efficient biosorbents for immobilization of imazapic and imazapyr herbicides in soil. Two biochars were produced separately from oil palm empty fruit bunches and rice husk biomasses and then modified with chitosan in a nitrogen gas environment.

Improved method for the analysis of imazapyr in soil

Pesticide Science, 1995
AbstractA method for the analysis of imazapyr [2‐(4‐isopropyl‐4‐methyl‐5‐oxo‐2‐imidazolin‐2‐yl)nicotinic acid] residues in tropical and temperate soils was developed. Imazapyr residues, extracted from soil with ammonium hydrogen carbonate and cleaned‐up by centrifuging, anion‐exchange solid‐phase extraction (SPE), pH adjustment, and C18 SPE, were ...

Use of imazapyr against Equisetum arvense on Swedish railway tracks

Pest Management Science, 2004
Abstract Since glyphosate has been used extensively for weed control in Swedish railway tracks, common horsetail (Equisetum arvense L), previously relatively rare, has become very common.

Response of food and forage crops to soil-applied imazapyr

Weed Science, 1998
Greenhouse experiments were conducted to determine the persistence of imazapyr and the tolerance of a wide variety of bioassay plants to imazapyr residues in central Texas soils. Eleven bioassay crops were planted in pots 1 d before and 2, 6, and 12 mo after imazapyr application at rates of 0, 0.02, 0.04, 0.07, 0.14, 0.28, 0.56, and 1.12 kg ai ha−1 ...

Sorption-Catalytic Determination of Imazapyr on a Copper-Containing Sorbent

Microchimica Acta, 2001
Sorption of copper on filter-paper with chemically attached hexamethylenediamino-groups (HMDA-filter) allows to obtain the sorbent (Cu/HMDA-filter) stable in respect to desorption of copper. A nitrogen-containing herbicide imazapyr (imaz) is retained on Cu/HMDA-filters at pH 5.5–7.0 forming a relatively stable complex.

Interactive Effects of Imazapyr plus Triclopyr Ester and Imazapyr plus Glyphosate Mixtures on Woody Weed Seedlings

2014
A rapid primary herbicide screening experiment was conducted to determine if synergism or antagonism occurs with imazapyr(Arsenal®) plus triclopyr ester (Garlon 4®) and imazapyr plus glyphosate(Accord®) mixtures applied to woody weed seedlings. Using a booth sprayer, 66 herbicide treatments were applied to greenhouse grown black cherry (Prunus ...
