Partial fractional differential model for gas-liquid spontaneous imbibition with special imbibition index: imbibition behavior and recovery analysis

Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, 2022
Abstract Hydraulic fracturing technology is widely used for developing hydrocarbons in tight unconventional formations, such as tight sandstone and shale. A considerable amount of liquid is imbibed spontaneously into the matrix after hydraulic fracturing.

Microfluidics via Controlled Imbibition

MRS Proceedings, 2013
ABSTRACTStrategies for controlled imbibition utilizing both topographical cues as well as patterned surface chemistries are presented. Triangle-like microstructures were used for directional wetting of liquids into a limited sector of the surface. Chemical patterns on top of a nanopillar geometry allowed the patterning of both water and oil droplets ...

Leakage during Seed Imbibition

Journal of Experimental Botany, 1972
When pea embryos are placed in water solutes leak from them at a ruto which declines rapidly at first and then more slowly. Embryos can be dried down over calcium chloride and will then leak as before when returned to water. Similar results were obtained with Ricinus seeds after removal of the testa.

Imbibition of a Fabric

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1995
Abstract Capillary penetration of liquids in porous and fibrous materials is of practical importance in many industrial processes such as textile and paper treatment, detergency, and filtration, and for environmental matters such as penetration of oil in sand or rocks.
