Analysis of Controlling Factors at Separate Imbibition Stages for Ultra-Low-Permeability Reservoirs

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Spontaneous imbibition is an important mechanism in naturally fractured reservoirs. In our previous studies on the effect of imbibition efficiency of ultra-low permeability reservoirs, we mostly focused on the relationship between macroscopic core ...

Clinical and Modifiable Factors Associated With Disability and Relapse in MOGAD: A Multicentre Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Factors associated with relapse course and disability in myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody‐associated disease (MOGAD) remain incompletely understood. Objectives To identify clinical and modifiable factors associated with relapse and disability in MOGAD. Methods In this ambispective multicentre cohort study using data from

Imbibition assisted oil recovery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Imbibition describes the rate of mass transfer between the rock and the fractures. Therefore, understanding the imbibition process and the key parameters that control the imbibition process is crucial. Capillary imbibition experiments usually take a long

Clinical Practice Guideline for Evaluation and Management of Peripheral Nervous System Manifestations in Sjögren's Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.

Spontaneous Imbibition in a Square Tube With Corner Films: Theoretical Model and Numerical Simulation

open access: yesWater Resources Research, 2021
Spontaneous imbibition in an angular tube with corner films is a fundamental problem in many scientific and engineering processes. In this study, a modified interacting capillary bundle model is developed to describe the liquid imbibition dynamics in a ...

Effects of Causal Beliefs About Gout on Public Views About Gout Management: A Randomized Experimental Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Despite well‐described biologic causes, the public views unhealthy lifestyle choices as the primary cause of gout. This study investigated how causal beliefs about gout influence the public's views about its management. Methods In a randomized study, 201 members of the public viewed one of two 2‐minute videos about gout.

Water imbibition and water sealing in water-driven gas reservoirs development

open access: yesEnergy Exploration & Exploitation, 2023
To improve the poor understanding of the mechanism of spontaneous water imbibition in water invasion in gas reservoirs and overcome the difficulty in quantifying imbibed water and its impact on reservoir development, a study is carried out based on ...

Interface pinning in spontaneous imbibition [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2001
Evaporation and gravity induced pinning in spontaneous imbibition are examined within a phase field formalism. Evaporation is introduced via a nonconserving term and gravity through a convective term that constrains the influx of liquid. Their effects are described by dimensionless coupling constants epsilon and g, respectively.

Imbibition: Experiment and simulation

open access: yes, 1996
Restricted Access. We report an imbibition experiment in 2D random porous media where the height-height correlation function grows with an exponent which depends on evaporation.
