Intertemporal imitation behavior of interbank offered rate submissions
Journal of Banking & Finance, 2021This paper addresses a problem that may damage the reliability of an interbank offered rate (IBOR) system. Using evidence from the Shanghai Interbank Offered Rate (SHIBOR), we show that some SHIBOR panel banks imitate peers’ quotes after observing them on the next business day.

Imitation from observation using behavioral learning
2022Imitation from observation (IfO) is a learning paradigm that consists of training autonomous agents in a Markov Decision Process (MDP) by observing an expert's demonstrations and without access to its actions. These demonstrations could be sequences of environment states or raw visual observations of the environment.

Imitative behavior: Network antecedents and performance consequences
2008Organizational networks are generally considered major antecedents of mutual influence in adopting similar practices, typically via a structure of dense ties, or closure. We propose that under conditions of competitive interdependence, closure may be associated with links established to access resources and knowledge and become a possible source of ...

Infants' responses to mothers' imitative behaviors
Infant Mental Health Journal, 1985Several investigators have suggested that young infants' smiles and vocalizations following their mothers' imitative behaviors might reflect infant recognition that the mother's behavior is imitative or at least contingent. This study investigated whether infants smile and vocalize more frequently subsequent to maternal imitative than non-imitative ...

Learning responsive robot behavior by imitation
2013 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2013In this paper we present a new approach for learning responsive robot behavior by imitation of human interaction partners. Extending previous work on robot imitation learning, that has so far mostly concentrated on learning from demonstrations by a single actor, we simultaneously record the movements of two humans engaged in on-going interaction tasks ...

An Investigation of Differential Reinforced Imitation Training on Imitative Behavior
The Journal of Genetic Psychology, 1974Abstract The function of reinforcement as a performance versus a learning variable was examined with the use of a number of varying imitation training conditions. Forty white and 40 black Ss were used. The analysis consisted of five 2 (Testing Situation) × 2 (White versus Black children) × 8 (Training Conditions) factorials with the use of an analysis ...

Pathological Imitative Behavior and Response Preparation in Schizophrenia
Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology, 2017Pathological imitative behavior (ehopraxia) is occasionally observed in schizophrenia patients. However, only a severe form of echopraxia can be detected with the help of a direct observation. Therefore, our goal was to study a latent form of pathological imitative behavior in this disorder, which is indicated by an increase of imitative tendencies. In ...

Modulation of Cortical Activity During Different Imitative Behaviors
Journal of Neurophysiology, 2003Imitation is a basic form of motor learning during development. We have a preference to imitate the actions of others as if looking in a mirror (specular imitation: i.e., when the actor moves the left hand, the imitator moves the right hand) rather than with the anatomically congruent hand (anatomic imitation: i.e., actor and imitator both moving the ...

Imitative behavior by Down's syndrome persons.
American journal of mental deficiency, 1979Three scales of imitative behavior (nonverbal, vocal, and verbal) were administered to 28 Down's syndrome subjects and 56 subjects with other diagnoses. All of the subjects were severely retarded and had at least partial vision and hearing, and the two groups were closely comparable with respect to sex, CA, and IQ.
