RECURRENT IMMERSIONS

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 1999
A submanifold \(f: M^m \to \mathbb{R}^{m+d}\) is said to have pointwise \(k\)-planar normal section (P\(k\)-PNS) if, for each normal section \(\gamma\), the set \(\{\gamma'(0), \gamma''(0), {\cdots} , \gamma^{(k+1)}(0) \}\) is linearly dependent. Such an \(M\) is called proper (\(\text{PP}k\text{-PNS}\) if it is not P(\(k-1\))-PNS [\textit{B.-Y.

Embodied Gambling—Investigating the Influence of Level of Embodiment, Avatar Appearance, and Virtual Environment Design on an Online VR Slot Machine

open access: yesFrontiers in Virtual Reality, 2022
Slot machines are one of the most played games by players suffering from gambling disorder. New technologies like immersive Virtual Reality (VR) offer more possibilities to exploit erroneous beliefs in the context of gambling. Recent research indicates a

$f$-Biminimal immersions

open access: yesTURKISH JOURNAL OF MATHEMATICS, 2017
Summary: In the present paper, we define \(f \)-biminimal immersions. We consider \(f \)-biminimal curves in a Riemannian manifold and \(f \)-biminimal submanifolds of codimension 1 in a Riemannian manifold, and we give examples of \(f \)-biminimal surfaces.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Methanol immersion reduces spherical aberration of water dipping lenses at long wavelengths used in multi-photon laser scanning microscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Dipping objectives were tested for multi-photon laser scanning microscopy, since their large working distances are advantageous for thick specimens and the absence of a coverslip facilitates examination of living material.
