Quality Enhancement of Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion Parts by Acoustically Assisted Additive Manufacturing by Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion and its Application to Lattice Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing technologies like laser powder‐bed fusion offer great design freedom and individualization of products down to a batch size of one. However, parts fabricated with this technology suffer from poor quality. Acoustic assistance during the build process can minimize these drawbacks.

Isometric Immersions via Compensated Compactness for Slowly Decaying Negative Gauss Curvature and Rough Data

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper the method of compensated compactness is applied to the problem of isometric immersion of a two dimensional Riemannian manifold with negative Gauss curvature into three dimensional Euclidean space.

Thermally Induced Gelling Systems Based on Patchy Polymeric Micelles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
A novel strategy to design thermally induced gelling systems with tunable material properties is reported. Polymeric mixed‐shell micelles displaying multiple thermosensitive patchy domains formed hydrogels by assembling into well‐entangled worm‐like network structures upon heating to body temperature. The patchy micelle design significantly affects the

Enhancing CoFe Catalysts with V2CTX MXene‐Derived Materials for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

Immersive teacher training experience on the methodology of problem posing and solving in Mathematics

open access: yes5th International Conference on Higher Education Advances (HEAd'19), 2019
In an Italian and European context, one of the fundamental skills in Mathematics is the ability to solve problems in everyday situations, often linked to everyday life. For this reason, the problem posing and solving methodology plays a fundamental role in the process of teaching and learning Mathematics.

Quantum Dots and Perovskites‐Based Physically Unclonable Functions for Binary and Ternary Keys via Optical‐to‐Electrical Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates optoelectronic PUFs that improve on traditional optical and electrical PUFs. The absorber materials are randomly coated through spray coating, ligand exchange, and dynamic spin coating. Incident light generates wavelength‐dependent binary multikey and enhances security ternary keys, approaching near‐ideal inter‐ and intra ...
