Immersion corrosion of material extrusion steel 316 L: Influence of immersion time and surface roughness

open access: yesMaterials Today Communications, 2023
This work investigates the influence of surface roughness on the immersion corrosion of Steel 316 L fabricated via the material extrusion (ME) additive manufacturing (AM) method. For that purpose, a metal-polymer filament was used to produce ME specimens via fused filament fabrication.

Effect of cold plasma technique on the quality of stored fruits - A case study on apples

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Engenharia Agrícola e Ambiental
The consumption of fresh fruits has increased nowadays due to the lifestyle of the consumers. Maintaining the quality and nutritional value of cut fruits during storage is difficult compared to whole fruits. Deterioration of internal and external quality

Immersion of strongly Brownian filtrations with honest time avoiding stopping times

open access: yesBoletim da Sociedade Paranaense de Matemática, 2017
In this paper, we give a partial answer to the following question: if $\mathbb{F}\hookrightarrow\mathbb{G}\hookrightarrow\mathbb{H}$ (where the symbol ($\hookrightarrow$) indicates the immersion property), $\mathbb{F}$ and $\mathbb{H}$ are two strongly Brownian filtrations, is $\mathbb{G}$ also a strongly Brownian filtration ?\\We prove that $\mathbb{G}

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Is game immersion just another form of selective attention? An empirical investigation of real world dissociation in computer game immersion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
When your daughter is playing video-games and you call her to dinner but she fails to respond, do you assume she heard you and ignored you? Everyday descriptions of game immersion suggest that the real world dissociation experienced by gamers could be ...

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Castration‐resistant prostate cancer cells are addicted to the high activity of cyclin‐dependent kinase 2

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that emergence of castration‐resistant prostate (CRPC) is associated with significant upregulation of cyclins that positively regulate cyclin‐dependent kinase 2 (CDK2) and concomitant downregulation of CDK4 cyclins. This renders CRPC cells dependent on the high activity of CDK2, and CDK2 inhibitors synergistically sensitize CRPC cells to both ...
