open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2020
In order to analyze the effect of immersion on polyurethane-solidified sand, the micro and strength characteristics of reinforced sand after immersion are tested by NMR and unconfined compression tests.

DRY" Immersion Induces Neural and Contractile Adaptations in the Human Triceps Surae Muscle

open access: yes, 2002
2002-12The effects of 7-days of simulated spaceflight, achieved with the technique of "dry" water immersion, on human triceps surae muscle function have been investigated in six subjects.

Castration‐resistant prostate cancer cells are addicted to the high activity of cyclin‐dependent kinase 2

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that emergence of castration‐resistant prostate (CRPC) is associated with significant upregulation of cyclins that positively regulate cyclin‐dependent kinase 2 (CDK2) and concomitant downregulation of CDK4 cyclins. This renders CRPC cells dependent on the high activity of CDK2, and CDK2 inhibitors synergistically sensitize CRPC cells to both ...

Influence of surface sealant on the translucency of composite resin: effect of immersion time and immersion media

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2008
This study evaluated the effect of surface sealant on the translucency of composite resin immersed in different solutions. The study involved the following materials: Charisma, Fortify and coffee, Coca-Cola®, tea and artificial saliva as solutions. Sixty-

Extracellular matrix remodeling and immune reprogramming drive residual tumor progression of liver cancer after incomplete microwave ablation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Incomplete microwave ablation (iMWA) of liver cancer triggers a biphasic progression in residual tumors. At Day 3, the microenvironment is characterized by acute inflammatory responses and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling. By Day 14, a profound shift occurs toward oncogenic signal transduction and immunosuppression, marked by macrophage ...

Effect of long-term immersion in static water on the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of sliding zone soil in the Three Gorges Reservoir area

open access: yes地质科技通报, 2021
The impoundment of the Three Gorges Reservoir has caused a large amount of soil on the bank to be immersed for a long time, which may cause the soil softened and induce instability of landslide. In order to study the effect of long-term immersion on the ...

SPHINX31 acts as a SRPK1 inhibitor targeting the ATR/DNA‐PKcs/CHK1 replicative checkpoint to inhibit cell growth in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The kinase SRPK1 directly interacts with the protein TOPBP1 and regulates the pre‐mRNA splicing of WIZ thereby contributing to the activation of the ATR/CHK1 replicative checkpoint in response to replicative stress. This allows cancer cells' genomic stability and survival.

Can the Immersion Time of PUVA Bath Therapy be Shortened?

open access: yesActa Dermato-Venereologica, 2002
Up to now, there are only a few data available concerning the influence of bathing time on skin phototoxicity. We compared the erythemal responses of normal skin to bath PUVA with 8-methoxypsoralen (8-MOP) after 5, 10 and 20 min immersion time. Currently, 20 min is the routinely performed immersion time in many European countries, including Germany ...

Mutant p53R273H disrupts PDPK1 homodimerization and contributes to PDPK1 activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
How mutant p53R273H drives AKT signaling is unclear. We show that p53R273H, but not wild‐type, directly binds PDPK1 via a mutation‐dependent conformational change. This interaction disrupts inhibitory PDPK1 homodimerization and enhances AKT phosphorylation.
