From the authors abstract: ``We consider an analytic discrete-time nonlinear system. Necessary and sufficient conditions for immersion of the system into a linear system are given. A similar approach can also be applied to continuous-time affine nonlinear systems.''

Attention, time perception and immersion in games
CHI '13 Extended Abstracts on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2013Immersion is a phenomenon experienced whilst playing digital games. Some argue that it is linked to time perception, where gamers claim that they are losing track of time while they are immersed in the game. In this work in progress, we describe an attempt to investigate the relationship between immersion and time perception.

This essay examines the experience of immersion in time and the curiously contemplative kind of `distraction' that is so carefully and variously evinced in many contemporary art installations.

It is shown that space-time can be regarded as a 4-dimensional subspace of a conformally flat, 6-dimensional space, or of a flat, 8-dimensional space. The group of isometries of the tangent spaces of the 6-dimensional space is O(4, 2), which has recently been used to describe elementary particles.

Immersive Telepresence: Transcending Space and Time
2012 International Symposium on Ubiquitous Virtual Reality, 2012With increasing economic globalization and workforcemobilization, there is a strong need for research anddevelopment of advanced infrastructures and tools to bringimmersive experience into telecommunication so people acrossgeographically distributed sites can interact collaboratively ina natural way.

Real-Time 3D Rendering and Immersion
2018People’s perception and experience of landscape plays a critical role in the social construction of these spaces—in how individuals and societies understand, value, and use landscapes. Perception and experience should, therefore, be an integral part of environmental modeling and geodesign. With the natural interaction afforded by Tangible Landscape and

Real-time gait control for partially immersed bipeds
Proceedings of the 8th ACM SIGGRAPH Conference on Motion in Games, 2015Physics-based animation is an increasingly studied subject of computer animation because it allows natural interactions with the virtual environment. Though some existing motion controllers can handle the simulation of interactions between a character and a liquid, only few methods focus on the simulation of the locomotion of immersed bipeds.
