Summary Chemotherapy‐induced neutropenia, monitored by peripheral blood absolute neutrophil count (ANC), increases the risk of bloodstream infections (BSIs). However, ANC may not reflect the total neutrophil population, as it omits neutrophils at extravascular sites.

Chemotherapy‐driven expression of WNT ligands in bone marrow stromal cells contributes to chemoresistance in acute lymphoblastic leukaemia

Chemotherapy‐induced WNT ligand secretion by bone marrow (BM) stroma drives acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) chemoresistance. WNT pathway inhibition disrupts this cross‐talk and restores therapeutic response, highlighting WNT inhibitors as a promising strategy to prevent relapse in ALL.

Enhancing antitumour response to proteasome inhibitors with inhibitors of insulin‐degrading enzyme, a new molecular vulnerability in multiple myeloma

Inhibitors of insulin‐degrading enzyme boost PI cytotoxicity through an increased sensitivity of proteasome to PI inhibitors, induction of ISR, DNA damage and Myc down‐regulation. They overcome PI resistance in vitro and induce tumour regression in vivo.
