Cellular receptors for IgE are broadly divided into two major categories. The division is based primarily on the relative affinity for ligand, although it is noted that high affinity IgE receptors are found exclusively on mast cells and basophils, while low affinity receptors are found on a much broader range of haematopoietic cell types (see Table 3.1)
