Serum Immunoglobulin G4 Level Is a Poor Predictor of Immunoglobulin G4–Related Disease

Pancreas, 2014
Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is characterized by elevation in serum IgG4 levels, typical multiorgan involvement and dramatic response to steroid therapy. We determined the predictive value of an elevated serum IgG4 for the diagnosis of IgG4-RD.

Immunoglobulin G4: an odd antibody

Clinical & Experimental Allergy, 2009
SummaryDespite its well‐known association with IgE‐mediated allergy, IgG4 antibodies still have several poorly understood characteristics. IgG4 is a very dynamic antibody: the antibody is involved in a continuous process of half‐molecules (i.e. a heavy and attached light‐chain) exchange.

Immunoglobulin G4–Related Lymphadenopathy

Surgical Pathology Clinics, 2016
Immunoglobulin G4-related lymphadenopathy (IgG4-RLAD) occurs in the setting of extranodal IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD), an immune-mediated process described in many organ systems characterized by lymphoplasmacytic infiltrates with abundant IgG4-positive plasma cells and fibrosis.

Immunoglobulin G4-associated cholangitis

Current Opinion in Gastroenterology, 2008
Immunoglobulin G4-associated cholangitis is a recently identified clinical entity characterized by infiltration of immunoglobulin G4 -bearing plasma cells in bile ducts and other affected tissues. This review is focused mainly on the most recent studies published during the last 2 years that have increased our understanding of this clinical entity ...

Immunoglobulin-G4–related skin disease

Clinics in Dermatology, 2021
Immunoglobulin-G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is an autoimmune-mediated spectrum of diseases, characterized by infiltration of IgG4+ plasma cells into one or multiple organs, with the pancreas being the most commonly affected organ. The disease mostly affects middle-aged to elderly men.

Immunoglobulin G4-Related Disease and the Lung

Clinics in Chest Medicine, 2016
Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a systemic fibroinflammatory disease with protean manifestations involving virtually any organ in the body. At initial clinical presentation, 1 or multiple organs may be involved. Initial descriptions focused on pancreatic disease.

Immunoglobulin G4-Related Disease of the Hip

Orthopedics, 2018
The authors report a case of immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) of the hip. A 60-year-old man diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the right hip was referred to the authors' outpatient clinic for surgical intervention. Laboratory test results revealed elevated C-reactive protein and serum IgG levels.

Immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4)-Related Hypophysitis

Endocrine Pathology, 2017
We report two different cases of IgG4-related hypophysitis. In the first case, a pituitary lesion was accompanied by lymphocytic meningitis possibly mimicking tuberculous meningitis. The second case was unassociated with involvement of other organs. No histologic differences were noted between the two cases indicating that the morphologic features of ...

Immunoglobulin G4-related hepatobiliary disease

Seminars in Diagnostic Pathology, 2019
Immunoglobuline G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a systemic disease that can involve virtually any organs including the biliary tract and liver. The biliary tract involvement of IgG4-RD is known as IgG4-sclerosing cholangitis (IgG4-SC) and may or may not present with an inflammatory pseudotumor.

Immunostaining of Immunoglobulin G4 in the Lacrimal Sac

Ocular Immunology and Inflammation, 2017
To immunohistochemically examine the lacrimal sac walls harvested during dacryocystorhinostomy using an immunostain for immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4).Forty-four lacrimal sac walls were evaluated. We determined "intensively positive," "sparsely positive," or "negative" staining when the specimens showed IgG4-positive lymphoplasmacytic staining with or ...
