Biochemical and aggregation analysis of Bence Jones proteins from different light chain diseases [PDF]
Deposition of immunoglobulin light chains is a result of clonal proliferation of monoclonal plasma cells that secrete free immunoglobulin light chains, also called Bence Jones proteins (Bence Jones proteins).

Cerebrospinal Fluid Analysis in Multiple Sclerosis Diagnosis: An Update [PDF]
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an immune-mediated demyelinating disease of the central nervous system (CNS) with brain neurodegeneration. MS patients present heterogeneous clinical manifestations in which both genetic and environmental factors are involved ...

Yi‐Fei‐Jie‐Du‐Tang (YFJDT), a traditional Chinese medicine, has shown potential in lung cancer treatment by targeting key pathways. This study explores the mechanisms of YFJDT using bioinformatics, xenograft models, and A549 cells, demonstrating that YFJDT downregulates HIF1A, promotes ferroptosis, and inhibits epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT ...

A prospective study of nutritional status in immunoglobulin light chain amyloidosis
Weight loss is common in systemic immunoglobulin light chain amyloidosis but there are limited data on the impact of nutritional status on outcome.

Phase Transition in a Model of Y-Shaped Molecules [PDF]
In recent years the statistical mechanics of non-spherical molecules, such as polypeptide chains and protein molecules, has garnered considerable attention as their phase behavior has important scientific and health implications. One example is provided by immunoglobulin, which has a "Y"-shape.

Evolution and Mutations of Beta 2 Microglobulin [PDF]
Here we examine the evolution of beta-2 microglobulin in terms of its hydropathic shapes, a theoretical construct that has revealed important trends. The dynamics of many proteins are largely driven by interactions between the protein itself and the thin water film that covers it.

A multifunctional hydroxyapatite (HAp) coating integrated with silver‐gallium liquid metal nanoparticles (HAp‐Ag‐GaNPs) exhibits dual antibacterial and osteogenic properties. It effectively inhibits Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria, including resistant strains, while enhancing bone regeneration.

A wash-free, dip-type fiber optic plasmonic (DiP) assay for sub-zeptomole analyte detection [PDF]
This study demonstrates a rapid, wash-free dip-type fiber optic plasmonic sandwich (DiP) assay capable of zeptomole analyte detection and 6-orders of wide dynamic range. The DiP assay is realized on a compact U-bent fiber optic probe surface by dipping the antibody functionalized probe into a mixture of sample solution and AuNP labeled reagent.

Light chains of immunoglobulins: structural-genetic correlates [PDF]
WITHIN the past decade, studies by molecular geneticists on the composition and organization of immunoglobulin (Ig)-coding genes at the DNA level have vastly increased our understanding of the genetic mechanisms responsible for generating antibody diversity and for linking Ig synthesis to cellular differentiation.
