In the Chingelput trial of immunoprophylaxis against tuberculosis, BCG vaccination did not protect against pulmonary especially bacillary tuberculosis commonly known 'adult form' of tuberculosis. The study however, did not answer the question whether BCG vaccination offers protection against 'childhood forms of tuberculosis' or not.
