Projectile impact damage analysis
Computers & Structures, 1981Abstract Small, flat-fronted cylindrical steel projectiles haw been fired at normal obliquity against simulated concrete and steel plate targets. Deformation measurements from these firings are compared with nonlinear finite element analysis results.

Analysis of the Impact of CD200 on Phagocytosis
Molecular Neurobiology, 2016One factor that impacts on microglial activation is the interaction between the ubiquitously expressed CD200 and CD200R, which is expressed only on microglia in the brain. Decreased signalling through CD200R, when CD200 expression is reduced, results in microglial activation and may, at least in part, explain the increased cell activity that is ...

Using impact analysis in industry
Proceedings of the 33rd International Conference on Software Engineering, 2011Software is subjected to continuous change, and with increasing size and complexity performing changes becomes more critical. Impact analysis assists in estimating the consequences of a change, and is an important research topic. Nevertheless, until now researchers have not applied and evaluated those techniques in industry.

Preprocessing impact on Turkish sentiment analysis
2018 26th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2018This paper investigates the impact of preprocessing on sentiment classification of Turkish movies and products reviews. Input datasets were subjected to several combinations of preprocessing techniques. Later, the manipulated reviews were fed to a lexicon-based and a supervised machine learning sentiment classifiers.

Biomechanical analysis of a fall: Velocities at impact
2016 38th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2016There are numerous research works focusing on falls of the elderly, proposing various technologies for its detection; however, few research works attempted to describe the mechanical phenomenon itself. In this study, we analyzed the kine(ma)tics of human falls with a simplified biomechanical model of human segments.

Change Impact Analysis: An Earthquake Metaphor
2011 IEEE 19th International Conference on Program Comprehension, 2011Impact analysis is crucial to make decisions among different alternative implementations and to anticipate future maintenance tasks. Several approaches were proposed to identify software artefacts being affected by a change. However, to the best of our knowledge, none of these approaches have been used to study the scope of changes in a program.

Impact Analysis in Software Evolution
2003Abstract Project planning relies on accurate estimates of the work at hand. In software development, the work at hand is represented by the requirements. In software evolution, when new requirements are added to an existing system in order to produce a new software release, it is important to base the project plan on how much the requirements will ...
