Effect of impact angle on vaporization

Journal of Geophysical Research: Planets, 1996
Impacts into easily vaporized targets such as dry ice and carbonates generate a rapidly expanding vapor cloud. Laboratory experiments performed in a tenuous atmosphere allow deriving the internal energy of this cloud through well‐established and tested theoretical descriptions.

Guidance Law to Control Impact Time and Angle

2005 International Conference on Control and Automation, 2005
This paper proposes a new guidance law to control both impact time and impact angle for a flight vehicle's homing problem, which can be applied for an efficient salvo attack of antiship missiles or a cooperative mission of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The Impact of Lipid on Contact Angle Wettability

Optometry and Vision Science, 2007
To analyze the effect of in vitro lipid doping on conventional hydrogel (CH) and silicone hydrogel (SH) lens wettability, assessed by sessile drop contact angle (CA) measurement.Nine contact lens materials, five SHs and four CH, were incubated with two different lipid tear solutions (LTS) containing cholesterol, cholesteryl oleate, oleic acid, oleic ...

Analysis of impact damage of agglomerates: effect of impact angle

Powder Technology, 2004
Abstract The effect of impact angle on the breakage of two types of agglomerates of a synthetic detergent formulation is analysed. The agglomerates are in the same size range (0.60–0.71 and 1.00–1.18 mm) with the same formulation but have different structures arising from the processing method. In contrast to previous work reported in the literature

Field-of-view-constrained impact angle control guidance with error convergence before interception considering speed changes

, 2020
An impact angle control guidance law is proposed for stationary target interception considering missile's field-of-view limit and speed changes. The proposed impact angle control guidance law is structured as a biased proportional navigation with a time ...

Impact time control guidance law with large impact angle constraint

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2015
The problem of impact time control with large impact angle constraint is addressed. The dynamics of impact time error under the biased proportional navigation based impact angle control guidance law is first derived for the case of large impact angle constraint.

All-Aspect Guidance With Impact Angle Constraint Against Unknown Target Maneuver

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2019
This paper presents an all-aspect guidance law that allows the missile to achieve the interception of a target at the prescribed impact angle for any initial conditions.

Effect of impact angle, exposure time, and particle size on impact erosion

Particulate Science and Technology, 2019
Removal of material from the surface due to particle impact is typically referred to as erosive wear. Impact erosion involves many parameters and several wear mechanisms.

Impact of impacted mandibular third molars in mandibular angle and condylar fractures

International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 2010
Previous retrospective analyses prove that impacted mandibular third molars (M3s) increase the risk of angle fractures and decrease the risk of concomitant fractures to the condyle. The authors have attempted to verify these relationships and identify the underlying mechanism of injury.

Look Angle Constrained Impact Angle Control Guidance Law for Homing Missiles With Bearings-Only Measurements

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2018
This paper presents an impact angle control guidance law that confines the missile look angle during homing in order to not exceed a seeker's field-of-view limit.
