Three-Dimensional Impact Angle Constrained Partial Integrated Guidance and Control With Finite-Time Convergence

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
A 3-D impact angle constrained partial integrated guidance and control design with finite-time convergence is developed for a surface-to-air skid-to-turn missile intercepting a head-on maneuvering target.

Multiple Twinning in Nacre and Aragonite

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electron backscatter diffraction map of a cluster of geologic aragonite, exhibiting single, double, and triple twins. The whole cluster is approximately 2 cm wide. Colors indicate crystal orientations, so that pixels where the a‐, b‐, and c‐axis is perpendicular to the image plane are green, red, and blue, respectively.

Convex Relaxations and Approximations of Chance-Constrained AC-OPF Problems

open access: yes, 2018
This paper deals with the impact of linear approximations for the unknown nonconvex confidence region of chance-constrained AC optimal power flow problems. Such approximations are required for the formulation of tractable chance constraints.

Electroactive Liquid Crystal Elastomers as Soft Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electroactive liquid crystal elastomers (eLCEs) can be actuated via electromechanical, electrochemical, or electrothermal effects. a) Electromechanical effects include Maxwell stress, electrostriction, and the electroclinic effect. b) Electrochemical effects arise from electrode redox reactions.

A Robust Approach to Constraining Dark Matter from Gamma-Ray Data

open access: yes, 2011
Photons produced in the annihilations of dark matter particles can be detected by gamma-ray telescopes; this technique of indirect detection serves as a cornerstone of the upcoming assault on the dark matter paradigm.

High‐Yield Synthesis of Fe‐NC Electrocatalysts Using Mg2+ Templating and Schiff‐Base Porous Organic Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fe─NC porous oxygen reduction electrocatalysts are prepared employing a 2,4,6‐Triaminopyrimidine‐based porous organic polymer, a Mg2+ Lewis acid, and a low‐temperature cation exchange protocol. Using the polymer precursor achieves high pyrolysis yields and results in atomically dispersed FeNx sites. The resulting catalysts feature hierarchical porosity

Discrete-Time Angle Constraint Interception with Model-Assisted Target Maneuver Estimator

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2020
This paper investigates the problem of designing angle constraint guidance law against unknown maneuvering targets based on discrete-time sliding mode control theory. Invoking the fact that the future course of action of the target, an independent entity,

Constraints on the parameters of the CKM matrix by End 1998 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
A review of the current status of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix (CKM) is presented. This paper is an update of the results published in [1]. The experimental constraints imposed by the measurements of \epsilon_K, V_{ub}/V_{cb}, \Delta m_d and from

‘Oxygen Bound to Magnesium’ as High Voltage Redox Center Causes Sloping of the Potential Profile in Mg‐Doped Layered Oxides for Na‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Na‐ion batteries ‐ Impact of doping on the oxygen redox: The sloping potential of NaMg0.1Ni0.4Mn0.5O2 above 4.0 V is caused by a new redox center (arising from the ‘O bound to Mg’), having a higher potential but being more irreversible compared to the ‘O bound to Ni’.

Trajectory reshaping based guidance with impact time and angle constraints

open access: yesChinese Journal of Aeronautics, 2016
AbstractThis study presents a novel impact time and angle constrained guidance law for homing missiles. The guidance law is first developed with the prior-assumption of a stationary target, which is followed by the practical extension to a maneuvering target scenario.
