Time-optimal moving target interception with impact angle constraint

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2022
The time-optimal guidance law with impact angle constraint to intercept a nonstationary nonmaneuvering target in three-dimensional (3D) space by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) is discussed in this paper. To achieve less computational complexity, the guidance law proposed here is based on the proportional navigation (PN) law existing in the literature.

Observer-Based PIGC for Missiles With Impact Angle Constraint

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2019
In this paper, we present an observer-based partial integrated guidance and control (PIGC) scheme for missiles to achieve hit-to-kill attack at a given impact angle. This is particularly useful as the lethality of a missile can be maximized if collision occurs at a certain angle.

Practical generalized optimal guidance law with impact angle constraint

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2018
In this paper, we provide a practical solution to the generalized optimal guidance problem with an impact angle constraint. The optimal guidance problem with arbitrary weighting functions is extended to explicitly consider a missile dynamic lag effect as well as a missile velocity variation. Therefore, compared to existing results, the proposed result

Adaptive terminal guidance law with impact-angle constraint

The Aeronautical Journal, 2017
ABSTRACTThis paper proposes an adaptive guidance law for attacking a ground target based on motion camouflage strategy. The coefficients of normal and bi-normal feedback guidance law are given according to the relative motion relationship under Frenet frame. Utilizing the coefficients, the motion camouflage proportional guidance law is derived.

Optimal pulsed guidance law with terminal impact angle constraint

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2016
An optimal pulsed guidance law with a time-varying weighted quadratic cost function that enables imposing a predetermined intercept angle is presented. Due to the characteristic of impulse force, admissible variance of control is redefined. The optimal pulsed guidance law is deduced via extended maximum principle.

Time-Cooperative Guidance with Impact Angle Constraint for Multiple Autonomous Underwater Vehicles

Oceans, 2023
This paper proposes a cooperative guidance law for multiple autonomous underwater vehicles reaching a moving target, which makes it possible to hit the target from both sides at a desired impact angle.

Field-of-view limited guidance with impact angle constraint and feasibility analysis

Aerospace Science and Technology, 2021
A look angle shaping guidance law with impact angle and seeker's field-of-view (FOV) constraints considering the time-varying speed is proposed. A look angle profile with respect to the relative range is first constructed as a cubic polynomial.

Ballistic Missile Trajectory Design Considering Impact Angle Constraint

Journal of Aerospace Sciences and Technologies, 2023
The current paper investigates the problem of guiding ballistic re-entry vehicles to the terminal point under the additional terminal constraint of final flight path angle. In this regard, the classical Lambert’s Problem is reformulated to include the final flight path angle constraint.

Three-dimensional nonsingular impact angle guidance strategy with physical constraints

ISA Transactions, 2022
In this study, two nonsingular three-dimensional (3D) guidance strategies to intercept a stationary target with desired impact angles, subject to nonlinear coupled dynamics, field-of-view (FOV) limit and lateral acceleration bounds, are investigated. As a stepping stone, two novel sliding mode surfaces are designed, the convergence and boundedness of ...
