Impact angle control for planar engagements

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1999
A new and practical terminal guidance law is presented for impact angle control for two-dimensional active homing engagement scenarios. Impact angle control is required to enhance terminal effectiveness of antitank and antiship missile systems in particular.

Impact Time and Angle Control Guidance

AIAA Guidance, Navigation, and Control Conference, 2015
In this paper, a guidance strategy, which extends the existing impact angle control guidance laws to cater to the impact time constraints as well, is proposed. This guidance scheme is based on switching between sliding mode control based impact time control guidance law and the impact angle control guidance laws.

Practical guidance law controlling impact angle

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2007
Impact angle is defined as the angle between the velocity vectors of a missile and a target at the instance of interception. The objective of the impact angle control guidance (IACG) law is to guide the missile into a collision course with a specified impact angle. In this paper, a new IACG law considering practical implementation is proposed.

Guidance Law to Control Impact Time and Angle

2005 International Conference on Control and Automation, 2005
This paper proposes a new guidance law to control both impact time and impact angle for a flight vehicle's homing problem, which can be applied for an efficient salvo attack of antiship missiles or a cooperative mission of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Look Angle Constrained Impact Angle Control Based on Proportional Navigation

AIAA Guidance, Navigation, and Control Conference, 2015
Two guidance schemes for nonlinear impact angle control against stationary ground targets are presented to address the issue of the look angle constraint. The guidance laws utilized are the unbiased and biased pure proportional navigation laws, for which the necessary analytical solutions are derived.

Sliding mode–based simultaneous control of impact angle and impact time

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2021
In this article, a sliding mode control–based nonlinear guidance scheme for controlling both impact angle and impact time simultaneously is proposed. The problem of impact angle control is first transformed to that of controlling line-of-sight angle and its rate, while the requirement of impact time is achieved by tracking the desired time-to-go.

Impact Angle Control Guidance Laws Using Finite-Time-Convergence Control Methods

2021 29th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation (MED), 2021
This study deals with the design of the impact angle control guidance (IACG) laws using the finite-time convergence control (FTCL) methods. To design IACG laws, the guidance command is divided into two parts. The first part is the command to intercept the target by nullifying the miss distance. The second part is the command to satisfy the impact angle
